- the carrier shaft 9 of the knife carrier 5 is mounted eccentrically in the holding part 4 and is impositively connected through a connecting part 10 rigidly connected to it to a guiding part 12 which includes first guide means for displacement along a guide rod 11 extending at right-angles to the carrier shaft 9 and in the direction of displacement of the said part 12.
- the connecting part 10 is in its turn displaceably connected to the guiding part 12 through the second guide means or bush 13 along a straight line 14 extending at rightangles to the carrier shaft 9.
- the guiding part 12 is connected to a doubleacting servomotor 15, as will be seen from FIG. 1.
- the holding part 4 has a cylindrical external surface, it can in a simple manner be rotatably mounted in the centrifuge housing and sealed off.
- the servomotor 15 can be connected, for example, to the holding part 4 instead of to the guiding part 12. See FIG. 4.
- FIG. 4 is a section similar to FIG. 2 also illustrating another example of a constructional form of the guiding arrangement for the stripping knife.
- the connecting part 10' is connected rigidly to the guiding part 12 and is extended in a displaceable manner through a guide bush 13' connected fast to the carrier shaft 9.

- the guiding part 12 for the guiding action along the secondstraight line (in the vertical direction) is rigidly connected to a guide rod 11, which is in its turn displaceably guided in the housing 1.
- the guide .rod 11 is connected to a piston of a doubleacting servomotor 20 and forms the piston rod of the servomotor 20.
- a centrifuge 1 comprising a housing 2, a drum 3, rotatable mounted in said housing 2, and a stripping knife 6 arranged in said drum; a knife carrier carrying said stripping knife; said knife carrier including a shaft; a holding part 4 in which said shaft is joumalled; said holding part being mounted to rotate on said housing; the axis ofsaid shaft and the axis of rotation 8 of said holding part being parallel to, and apart from each other, said axis being parallel with the axis of rotation of the drum; a guiding part 12, 12 reacting between said housing and said knife carrier; first guide means 10 to guide said guiding part so that the guiding part is translatorily displaceable relatively to said knife carrier along a first straight line; and second guide means 11, 11' to guide said guiding part so the guiding part is translatorily displaceable relatively to said housing along a second straight line; said straight lines having directions which differ from each other; each of said straight lines lying in a plane extending at right-angles to said shaft.
- said second guide means comprises a bore in said guiding part; and a guide rod rigidly connected to said housing, guided in said bore.
