Abstract
1415377 Centrifugal strainer with clearing knife ESCHER WYSS LTD 19 Jan 1973 [24 Jan 1972] 2965/73 Heading B1D A clearing knife 6 is mounted so as to be adjustable relative to centrifugal strainer drum 3 while maintaining a constant cutting angle, by means of a knife-carrier shaft 9, eccentrically mounted for limited rotation in a carrier 4 which is rotatable relative to housing 1, the two rotary axes being parallel to that of the drum. Shaft 9 is slidable horizontally by rod 10 in member 12 (Fig. 2) which is slidable vertically along shaft 11 to maintain the knife at a constant angle. To adjust the knife in Fig. 1, servomotor 15 moves member 12 vertically causing shaft 9 to slide horizontally and carrier 4 to rotate. Alternatively the carrier 4 could be rotated directly by the servomotor. In Figs. 3-6 (not shown) the connections between shaft 9 and shaft 11 are modified. Knife 6 may be axially movable on shaft 9 by a second servomotor 17 (Fig. 5).
