Definitions

  • the invention concerns a driving roll, especially for edge trimmers for use in the production of plate, and in this regard, especially hot plate or strip in the heavy plate range or in the hot rolled strip range.
  • Driving rolls are used especially in edge trimmers for working plate, with the driving rolls being used for conveying plate in the plate working plants.
  • DE 35 42 007 A1 and WO 01/36294 A1 disclose driving rolls used for this purpose.
  • the driving rolls are used especially for conveying or straightening plates in shears suitable for edge trimming and/or slitting or cutting plates to length.
  • the use of driving rolls of this type is well known for the working of cold plate.
  • the driving rolls are arranged in pairs and guide a plate to be conveyed between them. The driving rolls are set against the plate, and the plate can be conveyed due to the driven rotation of the driving rolls.
  • the driving rolls used in edge trimmers are in continuous contact with the hot plate to be worked and in the process are themselves strongly heated by the hot plate.
  • the continuous input of energy into the driving rolls causes them to overheat, and they thus lose the ability to function properly or they suffer a defect that can ultimately lead to their destruction.
  • the objective of the invention is to develop a driving roll of the type described above, which meets the requirements of use, especially in edge trimmers for hot strip or plate, and is highly fit for this use.
  • a driving roll with the features of claim 1 , wherein the driving roll is designed especially for edge trimmers, especially for use in the production of plate or strip, and here especially in the heavy plate range or in the hot rolled strip range, with a hub part that is provided with a journal and with a running roller that can be joined with the journal, wherein the running roller is designed with a channel or several channels for conveying a cooling fluid.
  • the driving roll is designed especially for edge trimmers, especially for use in the production of plate or strip, and here especially in the heavy plate range or in the hot rolled strip range, with a hub part that is provided with a journal and with a running roller that can be joined with the journal, wherein the running roller is designed with a channel or several channels for conveying a cooling fluid.
  • the running roller has a plurality of channels arranged parallel to the surface of the running roller. These channels can be produced in the running rollers as bores or as grooves in the surface, which are then sealed by means of a covering on the surface.
  • the channels have a star-shaped orientation or are uniformly distributed on the circumference of the running roller. This makes it possible to provide a favorable distribution of the channels, which results in optimized cooling of the surface of the running roller.
  • a fluid can be supplied to or removed from the channels by means of connecting channels, such that the connecting channels have an essentially radial or star-shaped orientation.
  • first connecting channels and second connecting channels are provided, such that the first and second connecting channels are connected by essentially annular channels.
  • journal is mounted in a bearing housing, and the bearing housing also has fluid channels for cooling by means of a fluid.
  • the fluid channels of the running roller are in fluid connection with the fluid channels of the bearing housing.
  • the objective of the invention is achieved in a driving roll installation with at least two driving rolls, wherein the driving rolls for edge trimmers are arranged in the run-in and/or runout region of the edge trimmers in such a way that they are positioned above and/or below a hot strip or plate to be received between them.
  • FIG. 1 shows a sectional view of a driving roll.
  • FIG. 2 shows a cross section through the driving roll according to FIG. 1 .
  • FIG. 3 shows an end view of the driving roll according to FIG. 1 .
  • FIG. 4 shows a set of driving rolls.
  • FIG. 5 shows an end view of the driving rolls according to FIG. 4 .
  • FIG. 1 shows a sectional view of a driving roll 1 .
  • the driving roll 1 consists essentially of a hub part 2 that is provided with a journal 3 and a running roller 4 that can be joined with the journal 3 .
  • the running roller 4 is rotatably supported on the journal 3 by means of a bearing.
  • Both the hub part 2 and/or the running roller 4 have channels that are at least essentially annular. These annular channels 5 , 6 are provided essentially on the outer surface 7 of the hub part 2 and on the inner surface 8 of the running roller 4 . According to the embodiment of FIG. 1 , the annular channels 5 , 6 are formed as annular grooves in the outer surface 7 and in the inner surface 8 .
  • channels 9 , 10 , 11 , 12 which distribute a cooling fluid, run radially inward in the hub part 2 and radially outward in the running roller 4 .
  • these channels are oriented both radially and axially.
  • the channels 9 , 10 serve as supply channel 10 and drainage channel 9 for the annular channels 5 , 6 , and the cooling fluid is supplied by a central, preferably truly axial, supply and drainage connection 14 , 15 .
  • the channels 11 , 12 serve to supply the cooling fluid, starting from the annular channels 5 , 6 , and are distributed to channels 13 , which are oriented in the axial direction and run under the surface of the running roller 4 .
  • the axial arrangement of a plurality of channels 13 allows improved distribution of the cooling fluid flow in the running roller 4 .
  • the channels 13 run essentially parallel to the axis of the running roller 4 , and they advantageously also run parallel to the surface or rolling surface 4 a of the running roller 4 .
  • the supply and drainage channels 14 , 15 are supplied with cooling fluid from the side 17 opposite the drive side 16 .
  • a joining flange 18 is provided, which is provided with or can be joined with a supply and drainage line (not shown in the drawing).
  • the supply and drainage channels are formed as a double tube, so that the supply channel is supplied on the inside, and the drainage channel is supplied in an outer jacket.
  • FIG. 1 also shows a cooling fluid connection 20 for cooling the bearing housing 21 .
  • the cooling fluid connection 20 allows cooling fluid for cooling the bearing housing 1 to be supplied and drained.
  • the supplying of the driving roll 4 with cooling fluid can be coupled with the supplying of the bearing housing 21 with cooling fluid.
  • a fluid connection can be provided between the channels for cooling the bearing housing and the channels for cooling the driving roll.
  • the fluid supply channels can also be fed separately.
  • FIG. 2 shows a cross section through a driving roll 4 .
  • the channels 13 in the driving roll 4 for distributing the cooling fluid are oriented parallel to the surface 4 a of the driving roll 4 .
  • These channels 13 are connected by the channels 11 , 12 , such that one supply connection 11 and one drainage connection 12 each are provided, which run in an essentially radial direction.
  • the channels 13 have an essentially star-shaped distribution.
  • the cooling fluid is conveyed by the channels 9 , 10 to the annular channels 5 , 6 for distribution or is drained, and from the annular channels 5 , 6 , the cooling fluid is distributed by the supply and drainage channels or collected from these channels and removed.
  • FIG. 3 shows a cooling fluid connection 20 for supplying and draining a cooling fluid for cooling the bearing housing 21 .
  • the fluid flows from the supply to the drain through the channel 22 near the surface.
  • the channel 22 near the surface is formed by a covered recess, which is connected on its supply side and drainage side with the connection 20 by means of bores 23 .
  • FIGS. 4 and 5 each show two driving rolls 1 , which can be adjusted and set relative to each other by means of an adjustment mechanism 30 , so that a plate can be passed through between the two running rollers 4 with contact or initial set against the running rollers.
