lle it known that l, JOHN P. RiicsnALn, a citizen of the United States7 residing at College Parli, in the county of Fulton and State of Georgia, have invented a new and useful Loch, of which the following is a specification.
rlhis invention relates to a novel form of screen securing device, the primary objectof the invention being to provide a device of this character especially designed for removably securing window screens in passenger coaches, so that the screens may be readily and easily removed to facilitate the cleaning of the windows.
Another important Object of the invention is to provide a device ot this character which may be readily and easily nianipw lated, eliminating the necessity of using tools to accomplish the rem-oval of the screens.
A still further object of the invention is to provide means for holding` the screens securely against movement While in the window frames, thereby insuring against rattling of the screens while in use. l
W'ith the foregoing and other objects in view which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the combination and arrangement of parts and in the details of construction hereinafter described and claimed, it being` understood that changes in the precise embodiment of the invention herein disclosed, may he made within the scope of what is claimed, without departing from the spirit of the invention.

Figure 1 is a fraginental elevational view disclosing a securingdevice constructed in accordance with the invention as in its active or securing position, dotted lilies indicat ing the position of the securing device when in its inactive position.

Figure 3 is a sectional view taken on line 3-3 of Figure 1.
Referring; to the drawing in detail. the reference character 5 indicates one of the bars of a window frame which is formed with grooves 6 to accommodate the screen sections 7 that screen the windows of the coach.
The device forming the essence of the invention includes a supporting plate 8 formed with an opening 9 to accommodate the bolt 10 which is provided with a head 11 on its inner end. The outer end' of the bolt is formed with threads to permit the lnob 11 to be secured thereto, which knob affords means whereby the device may be operated.
A coiled sgring indicated at 12 surrounds a portion of the holt and contacts with the head 11 at one of its ends, the opposite end of the spring contacting with the plate 8 so that as the bolt 10 is moved outwardly, the spring is con'ipressed.
t might be further stated that the bar 5 is cut away as at 13 to accommodate the bolt. Supported by the bolt and adapted to move therewith is a securing arm 1st which is formed with inwardly extended end portions 15 adapted to contact with the screen frames to hold them in position. ln order that the arm 14C will be held in its active position against accidental movement, flanges 16 are provided on the plate 8., the flanges being of suicient sine to allow the arm let to lie therebetween when the arm is in its active or securing position.
lilhen the arm is in its active position, and it is desired to remove the screens secured thereby, it is only necessary to pull the knob 11 compressing the spring and moving the arm 14: from its positions loetween the flanges 16, whereupon a slight rotation of' the knob 11 results in the arm 14 being` moved to a position as shown inV dotted lines in Figure 1, or out of engagement with the screens. lt is obvious that the screens may now be readily and easily removed from their positions in the window frames.
claim A screen securing device including a spring pressed arm, said arm adapted to contact with adjacentscrecns to hold them in position, said arm adapted to be rotated to a vertical position and out of engagement with the screen, and means for engaging the arm and restricting movement of the arin.
