Be it known that I, WILL AM E. HARRIS, a citizen of the United States, residing. at Long Beach, inthe county 'of Los Angeles and State of California, have inventeda new and useful Locking Device, of'which the fol lowing is a specification.
This invention relates to motor vehicle bodies, and more particularly motor vehicle bodies of the closed type.
The primary object of the invention is to provide novel means for holding the sliding window sections thereof against movement when in their closed positions, the device being especially adapted for use in connection with sliding Window sections.
Another object of the invention is to provide a structure of this character which may be readily and easily applied to struc-,
tures now in use, eliminating the use of making alterations in the structure for applying the same. VVit-h the foregoing and other objects in view which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the combination and arrangement of parts and in the details of construction hereinafterdescribed and claimed, it being understood that'changes in the precise embodiment of The invention herein disclosed, may be made within the scope of what is claimed, without departing from the spirit of the invention.

Supported by the side rails 11, is a shaft 16 which is supported in the bearings 17 secured to the upper surfaces of the side rails, the shaft 16 being supplied with a cam 18 adapted to move into engagement with the upper surface of the track bar 9 to move the same downwardly so that'the flanges 19 formed at the upper edge of the bar 9 may contact with the upper edges of the bracket members 7 and force thesame into engagement with the lower'rails of the top 5 in a manner. thereof.
