EDMOND JOSEPH FREWEN, OF LONDON, ENGLAND.
WALL.
Original application filed November 25, 1922, Serial No. 603,336. Divided and this application iled July 27, 1923. Serial No. 654,145.
To LZ2 whom t may concern.'
Be it known that I, EDMOND JOSEPH F nnwEN, a subject of the King of Great Britain, residing formerly at Terminus Chambers, 6 Holborn Viaduct, London, England, now of Lincoln House, 296 High Holborn, London, aforesaid, have invented new and useful Improvements in Walls, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to walls.
According to this invention la wall is composed of one row of T shaped bricks preferably having shallow stems andl crosspieces, each crosspiece having two cavities, and a row of plates having grooves into which the stems of the bricks enter and interlock. Y
The accompanying drawings show walls made in accordance with this invention in which Figure l is a horizontal section of part o1Y a building having an internal buttress, the walls of the building being composed of one row of T shaped bricks having an external facing oit' plates and Figure 2 is a section of a wall as constructed in accordance with Figure l, showing spaces left between the bricks for the reception of mortar or cement,
Referring to Figure l, the walls of the building are formed of T shaped bricks a whose cross pieces have cavities o?) and whose stems e are shallow and under-cut at ff. The bricks a may have projections and slots as shown at g or may have slots which form a tube for grouting the cement as shown at It. The corners of the building are formed of bricks y' having three cavities klok, while plates or tiles Z, preferably7 of stone or artificial stone, having groovec inner surfaces, form the outside of the wall, the grooves m receiving the stems e of the bricks a and securely locking them together. The internal buttress or chimney iiue frz, is constructed of bricks 0 which bricks may be used as cross 'bonding bricks.
Figure 2 shows the spaces p left between the bricks a for the reception of mortar or cement.
rFhis application is a division of my application Serial No. 603,336, iled November 25, 1922.
IVhat I claim is l. A wall composed of T shaped bricks, each brick having a shallow stern, a crosspiece and two cavities in the crosspiece, and a row of plates each plate having a groove into which the stems of the bricks enter and interlock.
2. A wall composed of T shaped bricks, each brick having a shallow stem, a cross piece and a projection at one end of the crosspiece and a slot at the other end of the crosspiece, and a row of plates each plate having a groove into which the stems of the bricks enter and interlock.
3. A wall composed of T shaped bricks, each brick having a stem and a row of plates each plate having a plurality of grooves into which the stems of the bricks enter and interlock.
4. A wall composed of T shaped bricks, each brick having a shallow stem, a cross piece and a projection at Aone end of the cross piece and a slot at the other end of the cross piece, and a row' of solid plates each plate having a plurality of groovesv into which the stems of the bricks enter and interlock.
5. A wall composed of bricks, each brick having two cavities separated by a central cross piece and having an elevation on one tace, each cavity extending into the elevation, and row of plates each plate having a groove into which thestenis of the bricks enter and interlock.
6. A wall composed of bricks, each 'brick having two cavities separated by a central cross piece and having an elevation on one' face, each cavity extending into the elevation, and a row of solid plates, each plate having a plurality of grooves into which the stems of the bricks enter and interlock.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my invention I have signed my name this 27th day of June, 1923.
EDMOND JOSEPH FREWEN.
