Building-blocks, special shapes of; flooring- blocks. - Hollow walls, partitions, floors, chimney walls, &c. are built of inner and outer rows of concrete, cement, clay, wood or like blocks reinforced or not, with smooth faces 1 and inter-engaging converging or diverging sides 2 which are flush or offset with respect to the edges of the faces, and are of uniform thickness and depth, or stepped in one direction as at 7, or stepped in two directions as at 7 and 9 whereby different arrangements of air spaces can be obtained.
