To all whom it may concern.'

Be it known that l, Ginnnn'r KING, a citi- Zen of the United States, residing at Pittsburgh, county of Allegheny, and State of ennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Belts, of which the following is a specification.

rThis invention relates to belts for garments, more particularly trousers, and has for its object to provide, in a manner as hereinafter set forth, what may be termed an invisible belt including an upper belt member for holding up the trousers and a lower belt member for holding` down the shirt for the purpose of maintaining the latter in position.

A further object of the invention is to provide a belt for the purpose set forth including an upper and lower belt member maintained in spaced relation by flexible elements inclosed in fabric casings and the belt further includes flexible loops projecting from the upper ends of the casings and adapted to engage with the buttons of a pair of trousers whereby the belt will be connected to and arranged within the trousers at the waist portion thereof.

Further objects of the invention are to provide a belt for the purpose set forth which is unusually simple in its construction and arrangement, strong, durable, efficient in its use, conveniently attached to the trousers, and inexpensive to manufacture.

Wvith the foregoing and other objects in view the invention consists of the novel construction, combination and arrangement of parts, as hereinafter more specifically described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein is shown an embodiment of the invention, but it is to be understood that changes, variations and modifications ,can be resorted to which come within the scope of the claims hereunto appended.

In the drawings wherein like reference characters denote corresponding parts throughout the several views Figure 1 is a perspective view of a belt in accordance with thisinvention.

Fig. 2 is a vertical sectional View through one of the flexible elements.

Referring tothe drawings in detail l denotes an upper belt member which is formed of flexible material and has attached to one end a buckle 2 and whereby the ends of the belt member l can be adjustably connected together.

The reference character -l denotes a belt member which is formed of flexible material and has attached to one end a buckle 5 whereby the ends of the belt member A can be adjustably connected together.

The belt members l and l are maintained in spaced relation through the medium of a plurality of flexible elements or stays 7 and each of which is inclosed in a fabric casing 8. Each of the casings 8 has one end secured to the belt element l and its other end secured to the belt member t. The upper end of each of the casings S is flush with the top edge of the belt member l and the lower end of each of the casings 8 is flush with the bottom edge of the belt member 4.

Secured to the upper end of each of the casings S is a flexible loop 9 and these latter project from the top edge of the belt member 1 and are adapted to be connected with the suspender buttons of the trousers whereby the belt is coupled with the trousers and arranged within the waist portion thereof.

The belt member 1 is employed for holding up the trousers and the belt member A for holding down the shirt.

The buckles 2 and 5, in connection with the apertured ends of the belt members, are employed for connecting the ends of the belt members together so that said belt members can be arranged and maintained in position around the body of the wearer'.

What l claim is 1. A belt comprising `an upper and a lower belt member, means for connecting the ends of said members together, the connecting means of one belt member being independent of the means for the other belt member, a plurality of spaced vertically disposed fabric casings having their lower end portions permanently secured to the outer face of said lower member and their upper end portions permanently secured to the outer face of the upper belt member, and vertically disposed loops having their lower ends secured within the top of said casing and projecting above the upper edge of said upper belt member.

2. A belt comprising an vupper and a lower belt member, means for connecting the ends of said members together, the connecting means of one belt member being independent of the means for the other belt member, a plurality of spaced vertically disposed fabric casings having their lower end cyl edge of the lower belt member and their l@ upper ends flush with the upper edge of the upper belt element.
