UNITED STATES PATENT oEFIoE.
JOSEPH ZELMAN, OF EL PASO, TEXAS.
GARMENT-SUPPORTER.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOSEPH ZELMAN, a citizen of the United States, residing at El Paso, in the county of El Paso and State of Texas, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Garment-Supporters.
This invention is an improvement in hose supporting devices and consists in certain novel constructions and combinations of parts as will be hereinafter described.
In the drawings-Figure 1 shows a long garment and Fig. l a short garment provided with my improvements. Fig. 2 1s a side view and Fig. 2 a sectional view of the tape construction at the upper end of the garment. Fig. 2 is a detail section on about line 2 2 of Fig. 1 showing the doubled construction of the tape strip for connection with the hose supporter.
The garment 1 may be long as shown in Fig. 1 or short as shown in Fig. 1 and is provided along its sides with a reinforcing tape 2 which may be stitched in place.
At its upper end the tape 2 is doubled back upon itself and secured forming a loop 3 which is twisted as shown in Figs. 1 and 2 forming a convenient loop to fit on a trousers button or to receive a suspender strap.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Application filed December 18, 1909.
Patented Aug. 30, 1910. Serial'No. 533,804.
The lower end of the tape is free for a short length forming a strip or tongue at 4 to which the clasp at the upper end of the hose supporter may be secured. By this construction the hose will be supported from the garment and if desired from the suspenders through the construction before described.
The hose supporter proper comprises a strap A which may be of webbing or other suitable material and may have an adjusting slide A of any approved style and the clasps B are secured by their loops B to the opposite ends of the strap A so they may be clamped, one to the tape on the garment and the other to the hose.
I claim:
A garment having a leg portion and provided along the side thereof with a reinforcing tape or strip having its upper end looped and its lower end free for a short distance from the garment, all substantially as and for the purposes set forth.
JOSEPH ZELMAN.
