BER-T I1. SINCLAIR, OF KANSAS CITY, KANSAS, ASSIGNOR 0F ONE-HALF T0 JOHN W. JONES, OF KANSAS CITY, KANSAS.
JACKET AND APRON.
Patented Apr. 6, 1915.
Application filed October 14, 1913, Serial No. 795,123. Renewed January 19, 1915. Serial No. 3,172.
To all whom, it may concern Be it known that I, BERT L. SINOLAIR, a citizen of the United States, residing at Kansas City, in the county of Wyandotte, State of Kansas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Jackets and Aprons, and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains, to make and use the same.
This invention relates to improvements in apparel and particularly to a'coat and apron to be worn by a cook or the like.
The principal object of theinvention is to provide a coat to be worn by cooks, butchers, grocers or the like which will be both comfortable and neat.
Other objects and advantages will be apparent from the following description, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings.
In the drawings: Figure 1 is a perspective view of my invention. Fig. 2 is a view of the coat open.
With the coats and aprons generally used by cooks, butchers, grocers and the like, the apron is tied over the coat. The tail of the coat in time rides up and gets into a thick bunch which makes the same hot and uncomfortable to the wearer. To overcome this defect, I provide the coatlO with the side slits 11 which extend to the waist line or a slight distance thereabove. On the front portion of the coat, and in a line 00- incident with the waist line are secured a plurality of fasteners, such .as the buttons 12 with which are engaged the series of button holes 13 formed in the waist band 14 V of the apron 15. The apron is thus smoothly and neatly held over the front of the coat.
The strings 16 of the apron are tied around snugly around the wrists and hold the sleeve out of the way of the wearer while at work, i
thus producing a garment which is both comfortable, and sanitary.
What is claimed is: An article of apparel comprising a coat which is slit at the side up to the waist line,
the front portion of the coat having a series of fasteners arranged along the line of the waist line, and an apron having fasteners for engaging the coat fasteners, the said apron being arranged to be secured at the back of the waist of the wearer under the I tail of the coat.
In testimony whereof, I afiix my signature, in the presence of two witnesses.
