IMPROVEMENT IN ABODY LANTERNH0LDERS- Speciieation forming part of Letters Patent o. 112,436, dated March 7, 1871.
I, SAMUEL C. FEssENDEIv, of Stamford, in the county of Faireldfand State of Connecticut, have invented a Body Lantern-Holder, composed of a convenient device for'securing the lantern on the person, combined with a `match-case, and mode of` securing the `lantern to the holder, so that the lantern may be readily attached and removed, of which the following is a specification sufficient to enable others to make and use the same.
The object of my invention is to secure to railroad conductors and policemen, and others using it, the benefit to be derived from a 1antern Without being obliged to carry it in the hand or on the arm, while at the same time it can easily be detached from the holder and used in the ordinary manner, as occasion may demand; and to provide a match-case, conveniently placed upon and attached to the holder for a match-box for the immediate use of the matches therein, as circumstances may require.
