FIG.|.
ARTHUR V. BRIESEN,
PATENT tribe.
OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
BRACELET.
fiPEC-IE'ICATION forming part of Letters Application filed January 15, 1885. Serial No. 152,952.
To aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ARTHUR VON BRIESEN, a resident of New York city, in the county and State of New York, have invented an Iniproved Bracelet, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference be ing made to the accompanying drawings, in which- Figures 1 and 2 are perspective views of my improved bracelet, and Fig. 3 is a sectional view of part of the same.
This invention has for its object to relieve ladies from the burden of carrying pocketbooks in their hands, or of seaching for them in their pockets when called upon to pay carfares and the like. Considerable inconvenience is experienced by ladies, especially when they have to carry bundles, parasols, or the like, in their endeavors to reach their purses for paying their way as they go along.
My invention consists in a bracelet that car ries a receptacle of the special kind hereinafter described.
The bracelet A which is shown in the drawings may be constructed of leather, nicely or namented, or any other suitable flexible material. It should be so arranged that it can be worn around the wrist over the glove. On the front or inner'side of the wrist this bracelet A is provided with a small receptacle, B, which is rigidly attached thereto, said receptacle Patent No. 334,844, dated January 26,1886.
(No model.)
having a lid, 0, which has a catch, a, that is closed by a springbutton, b. The receptacle B is adapted to contain asmall number of coins. The bottom of this receptacle is formed by the body of the bracelet, as shown. The wearer of this bracelet in order to get at the contents of the receptacle will only have to turn the hand palm upward, and then touch the spring button I), when the lid C will fly open under the influence of a small spring, (1, thereby disclosing the contents of the receptacle. It will be seen that the receptacle B does not in any manner serve to hold the hinged ends of the bracelet, as is the case with the bracelet shown in Patent No. 267,851, which I disclaim. For this purpose, a separate buckle, D, or equivalent i'astening is used in my flexible bracelet apart flOlIl UllG receptacle.
I claim- .The flexible bracelet A, constructed to form a coin-receptacle, B, rigidly connected thereto, the body of the bracelet extending beneath said receptacle to form abottom or support for the same, said bracelet having a fastening, D, apart from said receptacle, as set forth.
ARTHUR V. BRIESEN.
