Description

GLOVE.
Application led May 26,
To all whom t may concern:
Be it known that I, SIMONE AUGUSTINE GUERIN, a citizen of the Republic of France, and a resident of the borough of Manhattan, in the city of New York, county of New York, and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Gloves, of which the following is a specification.
The object of the present invention is the manufacture of a glove of the type known as mousquetaire glove, and having an extended wrist portion, in which the front face of the wrist portion is provided with a pocket adapted to hold coins and other small objects.
Up to the present time gloves which have been provided with a pocket have been cumbersome, and hindered the movements of the hand. The glove described herein does not impede the movement of the hand, since the pocket is placed on the cuff or gauntlet portion of the glove, and has its opening turned on the palm side thereof.
F ig. l is a plan view of the glove.
Fig. 2 is a side elevation thereof, with opened iiap to show the pocket extended.
The glove l has a cuff or gauntlet portion yi2 such as is commonly found in mousquetaire gloves. The palm or front face of the cuff portion is provided with a piece of material 3 which is connected to the body of the glove by stitching l or other means, forming a pocket with the opening facing toward the fingers of the glove. Material 3 is generally of the same material as the body of the glove, that is leather, kid or silk and the size of the pocket can be altered as desired. It is generally suficient to have it about the size shown so that the portion adjacent to the opening can be neatly folded when the glove is fastened and the pocket closed by means of the flap 5 provided with a fastener 6 to fasten on the button 7. Any method of closing the glove and pocket can be used.
The advantages of a pocket of this con- Specicaton of Letters Patent.

struction placed in the position shown are that small objects such as coins or a handkerchief can be placed therein and securely held in place when the Hap is closed. The coins or other small objects are readily removed by opening the flap and allowing the coins to drop out of the extended wall of the pocket. When the flap is closed the wearer experiences no sensation of unusual vthickness around the wrist, as the pocket and its contents create no disagreeable vsensation of undue weight, and the movement of the hands is absolutely unimpeded thereby. While the conventional form of flap and fastening means are shown, it is readily understood that any form can be used for the purposes indicated, and the size and form of y material of the pocket within the limitations of the invention can be as-desired.
Having described my invention, what I claim is:
l. A glove having` a cuff portion provided with a pocket on the outer front face of the cuff, such pocket being adapted to contain small articles and having` its opening toward the palm of the glove to permit the articles to drop into the palm.
2. A glove having a cuif portion provided with a pocket on the outer front face of the cuff, and fastening means adapted to simultaneously fasten the glove and close the pocket. y
3. A glove having a cuff portion provided with a pocket on its front face, the pocket opening facing the palm of the hand, and
means for closing the pocket and fastening the glove.
4L. A glove having a cuff portion provided y with a piece of material fastened on the outer frontl face of the cuff forming a pocket, and fastening means adapted to simultaneously fasten the glove and close the pocket.
Signed at New York city, in the county of N ew York and State of New York, this 24th daybf May, 1921.
