To all whom it may concern:

United States, residing at Chicago, in the 5 ()ur invention relates to gloves and refers I especially to attachments therefor.

The chief object of the improvements which form the subject matter of this application is to provide a pocket or receptacle in connection with a' glove, which may be used for various purposes but is particularly designed to be employed as a purse for the reception of money so that small change may be conveniently at hand when needed.

Further objects of the invention are to furnish a concealed pocket which will not detract from the appearance or durability of the glove; to provide said pocket with a suitable [lap or closure, and to furnish neat, novel and economical methods of forming and attaching the device so as to reduce the manufacturing cost to a minimum. 1

In carrying out the purposes of the improvements as above set forth, we provide a glove having a p cket'attached to its inner surface, the preferred form being illustrated in" the accompanying drawing, forming a part of this application, and in which the details are shown in the following views .Figure 1 is a front view of a glove with one side of the cuff thrown back to disclose the pocket attached to the inner surface of the article; Fig. 2 is a similar view illustrating-a modified form of pocket; Fig. 3 is a longitudinal section on the line 33 of Fig. 1; Fig. 4 is a section on theline4-4 of Fig. 2, and Fig. 5 is a front view of the cut? portion with. the sides fastened together.

Referring to th'edetails of the drawing, the numeral 6 indicates a glove made of kid or any other material in common use, havin the usual wrist extension or culf 7, furnished with a slit 7, forming llaps 8, 9, common in glove construction, and secured when in position upon the hand of the wearer by ordinary buttons 10. Upon the inner surface of the flap S is attached a pocket or pouch 11. In the preferred'form shown in Fig. 1, the pocket isformd by securing a piece of suitable material 12' cut to the desired shape, directly to the fabric of the glove. Since the glove may sometimes be worn without fastening. or the clasps or buttons may become accidentally separatedor fail to hold, and as it is desirable to keep the pocket closed whenever the glove is removed from the hand, I provide-a cover for the mouth of the pocket in the shape of a tongue 15. This tongue is formed of a separate piece 16 cut to the desired shape and fastened to -the glove by stitching; I prefer to 'to a lelthand glove. the indicated direction attach this tongue by inserting the margin beneath the edge of the hem 17, with which the wrist portions are usually finished so that a single line of stitching will secure both tongue and hem. The said tongue is provided on the free margin, and is adapted to be slipped beneath a strap 19, on the outer surface-of the piece 12. if preferred, may be substituted for the design shown,- as this clasp forms no essential part of the invention. 7

In Figs. 2 and 4 a modified form of pocket is shown, having the body 20 constructed of two continuous layers 21, 22, cemented to.- gether at their edges to form a complete pouch or pocket, independent of the love fabric. The combination with a glove having a cuff provided with flaps, furnished with henis, and a fastening for the flaps, of a pocket secured to the inner surface of one of the flaps, said pocket being arranged with its mouth directed toward the lateral margins of said flap, and a closure for the pocket, said closure consisting of a tongue attached beneath the hem of said flap.
