Abstract

Description

雙組分無溶劑黏著劑組合物及製造其之方法
本發明係關於無溶劑黏著劑組合物。更特定言之,本發明係關於供與層製品膜一起使用的雙組分無溶劑黏著劑組合物,具有經改良黏結強度、抗化學性及熱密封強度的組合物及製造其之方法。
黏著劑組合物適用於各種目的。舉例而言,黏著劑組合物用於將基板,諸如聚乙烯、聚丙烯、聚酯、聚醯胺、金屬、紙或塞璐芬(cellophane)黏結在一起以形成複合膜,亦即層製品。黏著劑在不同的層壓最終用途應用中之用途為一般已知的。舉例而言,黏著劑可用於製造用於封裝行業,尤其用於食品封裝之膜/膜及膜/箔層製品。用於層壓應用之黏著劑或「層壓黏著劑」可一般分為三種類別:溶劑類、水類及無溶劑型。黏著劑之效能視應用黏著劑之類別及應用而改變。
無溶劑層壓黏著劑可在無有機溶劑或水性載劑的情況下塗覆至多100%固體。因為在應用時不需要自黏著劑乾燥有機溶劑或水,所以此等黏著劑可以較高的生產線速度運作且在需要快速黏著劑塗覆之應用中為較佳的。溶劑及水 類層壓黏著劑在應用時受到可有效乾燥且移除溶劑或水載劑之速率限制。出於環境、健康及安全原因,層壓黏著劑較佳為水性或無溶劑的。
在無溶劑層壓黏著劑之類別內,存在諸多品種。一種特定的品種包含雙組分聚胺基甲酸酯類層壓黏著劑。通常,雙組分聚胺基甲酸酯類層壓黏著劑包含第一組分,其包括含異氰酸酯之預聚物,及包括一或多種多元醇之第雙組分。第一組分藉由聚異氰酸酯與聚醚多元醇及/或聚酯多元醇之反應獲得。第雙組分為聚醚多元醇及/或聚酯多元醇。各組分可視情況包含一或多種添加劑。兩種組分以預定比率合併且塗覆於膜/箔基板上,其接著層壓至另一膜/箔基板。
與含傳統溶劑之黏著劑相比,雙組分無溶劑聚胺基甲酸酯類層壓黏著劑包含較弱的初始黏結,且在可處理層製品之前產生緩慢黏結。另外,此等黏著劑傾向於展現相對不良的抗化學性,尤其在酸性條件中,以及不良的熱密封強度。在一些情況下,矽烷黏著促進劑併入於黏著劑組合物中以改良初始黏結強度。然而,矽烷黏著促進劑不能承受抗加熱性及抗酸性,且黏著劑組合物之黏結強度在加熱及/或酸處理之後受損害。另外,併入矽烷黏著促進劑之層製品需要乾燥的儲存環境,因為矽烷對濕氣具有敏感性。
因此,期望具有經改良黏結強度、抗化學性及熱密封強度之雙組分無溶劑聚胺基甲酸酯類層壓黏著劑組合物及製造其之方法。
揭示一種雙組分無溶劑黏著劑組合物。所述黏著 劑組合物包括含有異氰酸酯預聚物之異氰酸酯組分,所述異氰酸酯預聚物為包括以下之反應物的反應產物:至少一種聚異氰酸酯;至少一種選自由聚酯多元醇、聚醚多元醇及其組合組成之群的多元醇;及至少一種多元醇,其具有兩個或更多個羥基(「OH」)基團及選自O=C-O-、O=C-C-O-、O=C-C=C-O-或其質子化形式之氫橋聯基團。黏著劑組合物進一步包括多元醇組分,其包括至少一種選自由聚酯多元醇、聚醚多元醇及其組合組成之群的多元醇。相對於現有的雙組分無溶劑黏著劑組合物,在所述異氰酸酯預聚物反應物中納入具有兩個或更多個OH基團及氫橋聯基團之多元醇改良所揭示黏著劑組合物之黏結強度及抗化學性。
亦揭示一種形成層製品之方法。所述方法包括形成無溶劑黏著劑組合物,所述組合物包括至少一種包括兩個或更多個OH基團及氫橋聯基團之多元醇,將所述黏著劑組合物之層塗覆至膜表面,使所述層與另一膜表面接觸以形成層製品,及固化所述黏著劑組合物。亦揭示一種由此方法形成之層製品。
根據本發明之雙組分無溶劑黏著劑組合物包括異氰酸酯組分及多元醇組分。
異氰酸酯組分
異氰酸酯組分包括至少一種異氰酸酯預聚物,其為包括以下之反應物(「預聚物反應物」)的反應產物:至少 一種聚異氰酸酯;至少一種選自由聚酯多元醇、聚醚多元醇及其組合組成之群的多元醇;及至少一種多元醇,其具有與異氰酸酯基團(亦即R-N=C=O)反應之兩個或更多個OH基團且含有氫橋聯基團,所述氫橋聯基團選自O=C-O-、O=C-C-O-、O=C-C=C-O-或其質子化形式。以下詳細論述預聚物反應物中之每一者。
如本文所用,「聚異氰酸酯」為含有兩個或更多個異氰酸酯基團之任何化合物。「芳族聚異氰酸酯」為含有一或多個芳環之聚異氰酸酯。「脂族聚異氰酸酯」不含芳環。

根據本發明之適於使用的聚酯多元醇為已知的二醇以及視情況多元醇(例如三醇、四醇)之聚縮合物,且為二羧酸以及視情況多元羧酸(例如三羧酸、四羧酸)或羥基羧酸或內酯之聚縮合物。聚酯多元醇亦可衍生自對應聚羧酸酐或低級醇之對應聚羧酸酯,而非自由聚羧酸。

多元醇組分

預期所揭示無溶劑黏著劑組合物之異氰酸酯組分及多元醇組分可分開製造,且若需要,儲存直至需要使用黏著劑組合物為止。在一些實施例中,異氰酸酯組分及多元醇組分在25℃下各為液體。當需要使用黏著劑組合物時,異氰酸酯組分及多元醇組分彼此接觸且混合在一起。預期當使此等兩種組分接觸時,開始固化反應,其中異氰酸酯基團與羥基基團反應以形成胺基甲酸酯鍵聯。藉由使兩種組分接觸形成之黏著劑組合物可稱作「可固化混合物」。
亦揭示一種使用黏著劑組合物形成層製品之方法。在一些實施例中,黏著劑組合物,諸如如上文所述之黏 著劑組合物處於液態。在一些實施例中,組合物在25℃下為液體。即使組合物在25℃下為固體,視需要仍可接受加熱組合物以使其處於液態。將組合物之層塗覆至膜表面。「膜」為在一個維度中為0.5mm或更小且在其他兩個維度中均為1cm或更大的任何結構。聚合物膜為由聚合物或聚合物之混合物製成的膜。聚合物膜之組合物通常按一或多種聚合物之重量計為80重量%或更大。在一些實施例中,可固化混合物之層厚度為1至5μm。
在一些實施例中,使另一膜之表面與可固化混合物之層接觸以形成未固化層製品。在一些實施例中,每次當相比於在與多元醇組分接觸之前異氰酸酯組分中存在的聚異氰酸酯基團之量,黏著劑組合物中存在的未反應聚異氰酸酯基團之量以莫耳計為至少50%、或至少75%、或至少90%時,製造出未固化層製品。每次當可固化混合物中存在的未反應聚異氰酸酯基團之量小於100%、或小於97%、或小於95%時,進一步製造出未固化層製品。
可固化混合物隨後經固化或允許其固化。未固化層製品可經受壓力,例如藉由穿過可經或可未經加熱之軋輥。未固化層製品可經加熱以加速固化反應。
合適的膜包含紙、編織及非編織物、金屬箔、聚合物以及金屬塗佈聚合物。膜視情況具有上面印刷有油墨之表面;所述油墨可與黏著劑組合物接觸。在一些實施例中,膜為聚合物膜及金屬塗佈之聚合物膜,更佳為聚合物膜。

對於說明性實例及比較實例,異氰酸酯組分根據典型的聚胺基甲酸酯預聚物製備方法在1,000ml玻璃反應器中合成。將聚異氰酸酯引入反應器中且在氮氣保護的情況下維持在60℃下。隨後,根據表2中之組合物將各種多元醇引入反應器中。將溫度緩慢增加至80℃且維持2至3小時。最終,將所製備異氰酸酯預聚物,亦即異氰酸酯組分裝入具有氮氣保護之密封容器中以供進一步應用。
如表3中所指示,多元醇組分包含多元醇之混合物。在將多元醇組分之原材料引入反應器中之前,原材料之水分含量應小於500ppm。在攪拌且混合多元醇組分中之原材料時,供應氮氣以避免濕氣污染混合物。

實例之黏著劑組合物接著用於形成包括聚乙烯及鋁膜之層製品。將黏著劑組合物以2.0gsm塗佈重量塗覆至聚乙烯,使與鋁膜一起,且隨後在50℃下固化24小時以形成層製品。一旦形成層製品,則進行測試來用水及蘋果汁分析黏結強度、熱密封強度及耐可煮袋性。
層製品效能測試
自實例之黏著劑組合物製備的層製品經受黏結強度測試。將層製品切割成15mm寬條帶以使用購自英斯特朗公司(Instron Corporation)之5940系列單管柱桌面系統(5940 Series Single Column Table Top System)在250mm/min十字頭速度下進行T型剝離測試。在測試期間,手動輕微拉動各條帶尾部以確保尾部與剝離方向保持在90°角度。針對各樣品測試三個條帶且計算平均值。結果以N/15mm為單位。相對較高值指示較好的黏結強度。
自實例之黏著劑組合物製備的層製品經受熱密封強度測試。層製品在購自Brugger Feinmechanik GmbH之HSG-C熱密封機器中在140℃密封溫度及300N壓力下熱密封1秒。將層製品接著冷卻且切成15mm寬條帶,以使用購自英斯特朗公司之5940系列單管柱桌面系統在250mm/min十字頭速度下進行熱密封強度測試。針對各樣品測試三個條帶且計算平均值。結果以N/15mm為單位。相對較高值指示較好的熱密封強度。
自實例之黏著劑組合物製備的層製品經受耐可煮袋性測試。將層製品切割成8cm×12cm片段且經由在袋子內部用水熱密封而製成袋子。接著將袋子置放於沸水中且靜置30分鐘,確保袋子在整個煮沸製程期間始終浸沒於水中。在完成煮沸製程時記錄袋子之隧穿、去層壓及/或洩漏程度。對於通過耐可煮袋性測試的樣品,必須未展示出隧穿、去層壓或洩漏之跡象。接著打開袋子,清空且使其冷卻,隨後切割成15mm寬條帶以在英斯特朗5943機器中測試T型剝離黏結強度。測試三個條帶以獲取平均值。

實例在室溫下展現良好的黏結強度及熱密封強度。然而,比較實例在完成可煮袋測試之後展現減少的黏結強度。另一方面本發明實例在完成可煮袋測試之後展現相同或甚至增加的黏結強度。另外,本發明實例與比較實例相比展現增加的熱密封強度。
如上文所論述及表2至表4中所提及,比較實例組成上類似於說明性實例,除多元醇,包括含有氫橋聯基團之多元醇以外。因此,將此多元醇納入黏著劑組合物之至少異氰酸酯組分中導致層製品在經受可煮袋處理之後具有較好黏結強度。

Claims (10)

  1. 一種雙組分無溶劑黏著劑組合物,其包括:包括異氰酸酯預聚物之異氰酸酯組分,所述異氰酸酯預聚物為包括以下之反應物的反應產物:至少一種聚異氰酸酯;至少一種選自由聚酯多元醇、聚醚多元醇及其組合組成之群的多元醇;及至少一種具有兩個或更多個OH基團及氫橋聯基團之多元醇,及多元醇組分,所述多元醇組分包括至少一種選自由聚酯多元醇、聚醚多元醇及其組合組成之群的多元醇。
  2. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述的組合物,其中所述異氰酸酯組分及所述多元醇組分中之至少一者進一步包括生物類多元醇。
  3. 如申請專利範圍第2項所述的組合物,其中所述生物類多元醇為蓖麻油。
  4. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述的組合物,其中異氰酸酯組分與多元醇組分之重量比為5:1至1:1。
  5. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述的組合物,其中所述多元醇組分進一步包括選自由胺基矽烷、環氧基矽烷及其組合組成之群的黏著促進劑。
  6. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述的組合物,其中所述多元醇組分進一步包括具有兩個或更多個OH基團及氫橋聯基團之多元醇。
  7. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述的組合物,其中具有所述OH 基團及氫橋聯基團之所述多元醇包括羥基及COOH酸官能基。
  8. 一種雙組分無溶劑黏著劑組合物,其包括:包括異氰酸酯預聚物之異氰酸酯組分,所述異氰酸酯預聚物為包括以所述異氰酸酯組分之總重量計以下之反應物的反應產物:10至80重量%至少一種聚異氰酸酯;2至35重量%至少一種聚酯多元醇;5至45重量%至少一種聚醚多元醇;及0.01至25重量%至少一種包括兩個或更多個OH基團及氫橋聯基團之多元醇,及包括以多元醇組分之總重量計以下之多元醇組分:0至100重量%至少一種聚酯多元醇;及0至100重量%至少一種聚醚多元醇。
  9. 一種用於形成層製品之方法,所述方法包括:藉由使與包括以下之反應物接觸來形成無溶劑黏著劑組合物:包括異氰酸酯預聚物之異氰酸酯組分,所述異氰酸酯預聚物為包括以下之反應物的反應產物:至少一種聚異氰酸酯;至少一種選自由聚酯多元醇、聚醚多元醇及其組合組成之群的多元醇;及至少一種具有兩個或更多個OH基團及氫橋聯基團之多元醇;及多元醇組分,所述多元醇組分包括選自由聚酯多元醇、聚 醚多元醇及其組合組成之群的多元醇;將所述黏著劑組合物之層塗覆至膜表面;使所述層與另一膜之表面接觸以形成層製品;及固化所述黏著劑組合物。
  10. 一種層製品,其由如申請專利範圍第9項所述的方法形成。
