Abstract
Buluş, lityum-iyon pilleri veya ilgili ürünleri içeren bir bulamaçta kobaltın lityumdan ayrıştırılmasına yönelik bir prosesle ilgili olup plazma gazını eriyiğe enjekte etmek için daldırmalı bir hava beslemeli plazma şalomasıyla donatılmış bir banyo fırını kullanarak bulamacın ergitilmesi; kobaltın metalik hale indirgendiği ve bir alaşım fazına aktarıldığı ve burada lityumun Li2O halinde oksitlendiği ve cüruf fazına aktarıldığı bir banyo redoks potansiyelinin tayin ve muhafaza edilmesi; fazların çöktürülmesi ve ayrıştırılması adımlarını içermektedir. Proses, indirgeme ve oksitleme adımlarının eş zamanlı olarak gerçekleştirilmesiyle karakterize edilmektedir. Cürufta uygun şekilde düşük bir kobalt konsantrasyonu elde edilmektedir.
