Alla dessa legering- ar bildar ett skyddande oxidskikt huvudsakligen sammansatt av Crgh och i fall av Si-tillsatser även SiO2 i viss utsträck- ning. Mindre tillsatsämnen såsom sällsynta jordartsmetaller har använts för att ytterligare förhöja oxidskiktets egenska- per, och flertalet patent råder att tillsatser används för HADOCWORJQTQI ß: 2005-12-14 10 75 20 25 30 LN ha \J (al .Am vb (AI att åstadkomma ett material med god oxidationslivslängd, se V 531 775 och EP 0 386 730.
Förutom god oxidation finns det också ett behov av en god varmhållfasthet. I händelse av elektriska element kan kostna- den för krokar och stödsystem minskas om materialet är till- räckligt starkt för att ge stöd till sin egna vikt och såle- des bibehålla sin form vid operationstemperaturen.
För användning som elektriska element är den relativt höga resistiviteten och låga Ct = Rvam/Rkall-förhållandet av resi- stansförändringen från rumstemperatur till operationstempera- tur en viktig parameter. Generellt gäller ju högre Ni desto högre resistivitet och lägre Ct-faktor.
Tillsats av element såsom Mo och W upp till nivåer på flera vikt-% är kända för att förhöja de mekaniska egenskaperna vid höga temperaturer men de är dyra och är därför inte önskvärda tillsatsämnen i tillämpningar där kostnaden är viktig.
I ett brett område av öppna spiralformade elektriska, mot- ståndsvärmeelement används typen NiCr 60 15 och NiCr 30 20 (DIN) eller legeringarna 60 Ni, 16 Cr och 35 Ni, 20 Cr (ASTM). Ur kostnadssynpunkt föredras typen NiCr 30 20 eller 35 Ni, 20 Cr på grund av deras låga innehåll av dyr Ni. I tillämpningar där wattdensiteten och följaktligen elementtem- peraturen är höga är oxidationslivslängden för legeringar med denna nivå av Ni fram tills nu otillräcklig. Samtidigt måste de mekaniska egenskaperna vid operationstemperaturerna ligga inom de accepterbara gränserna.

Det är viktigt att C-halten ligger under 0,1 vikt-%. Åtta testsmältor göts, varmvalsades, och kalldrogs till en tråd enligt standardpraxis med kemisk komposition enligt Tabell 2.

Dessa exponerades för höga temperaturer, 950°C, med hjälp av en laboratorieugn i 168 timmar. Deformationen hos spira- lerna mättes med en ndkrometerskruv enligt uppsättningen i figur l.
Eftersom dessa produkter är i drift vid höga temperaturer är oxidationslivslängden och i synnerhet den cykliska oxida- tionslivslängden den andra viktiga utformningsfaktorn. I syfte att utvärdera denna egenskap utfördes ett cykliskt oxidationstest. Provtrådarna upphettades genom att låta en elektrisk ström passera genom. dem och exponerades för en cykel 2 minuter på/2 minuter av. Tiden det tog för att bränna av registrerades och resultaten grupperades efter prestandan.
En kombination av deformationsprestandan som förekommer från relativt små pàlagda krafter såsom. gravitationsverkande på till exempel upphängda värmespiraler och oxidationsprestanda vid hög temperatur är därför syftet med föreliggande uppfin- ning.
Resultaten indikerar att inte bara nivån för varje element utan dessutom de relativa halterna av baselementen nickel, krom och kisel har en förvånansvärt stor påverkan på prestan- dan.

Endast inom detta snäva band av komposi- tioner uppnåddes optimumkompromissen som gav driftlösningen.
En legering enligt uppfinningen har huvudkompositionen (i vikt-%) Ni sträckande från 38 till 48, en Cr-nivå är större än Cr = -0,1 Ni + 24 och lägre än Cr = -0,166? Ni + 30 Samtidigt är Si-nivån högre än och mindre än Si = -0,01 Ni + 1,9.
Legeringen kan också innehålla upp till 5 % Co som ersättning för Ni och Mn upp till 2 %. Vidare innehåller den Al upp till O,3% och sällsynta jordartsmetaller, Y och Ca upp till en nivå på O,2% totalt. C bör vara <0,1 och N i ett område från 0,03 till 0,07%. Nitrid~ och karbidbildare såsom Ti, Zr, Hf Ta, Nb och V kan tillsättas upp till en totalnivà på 0,4% men drar inte nödvändigtvis nytta av fördelen med uppfinningen. Återstoden består av järn och olika element härrörande från ràmaterialen och framställningsförfarandet upp till en total- nivå på <2%.

Ytterligare ett exempel på en legering enligt uppfinningen med ytterligare förbättrade oxidationsprestanda på grund av den högre Ni-halten men annars med jämförbara egenskaper är Ni 45 Cr 21 Si 1,2 Mn 0,5 0,02 0,05 Ce 0,03 Föroreningar upp till 2% Fe balansen.

Claims (5)
1. l. Legering för högtemperaturanvändning i elektriska mot- ståndselement, k ä n n e t e c k n a d av att legeringen innefattar Fe, Ni och Cr och följande ämnen givna i vikt-%, Ni 38 - 48 Cr 18 - 24 Si 1,0 - 1,9- C < 0,1 Mn mindre än 2 och av att Al, C, Ca, N, Ti, Zr, Hf, Ta, Nb, V, Mg, W, Ce och REE till- sammans är mindre än approximativt 7 Fe balans.
2. Legering enligt krav 1, k ä n n e t e c k n a d av att legeringen innefattar Ni 38 - 48 cr mellan -0,1 Ni + 24 och -o,166v Ni + 30 Si mellan 1,0 och -0,01 Ni + 1,9 och av att legeringen innehåller upp till 5 wt% Co som er- sättning för Ni och av att legeringen vidare innehåller Mn upp till 2 Al upp till 0,3 REE, Y och Ca upp till 0,2% totalt C < 0,1 N 0,03 - 0,07 Ti, Zr, Hf, Ta, Nb och V upp till 0,4 totalt S < 50 wt ppm Andra element < 2 totalt Fe balans
