Abstract

1,234,895. Lamps. VAGBELYSNING A.B. 16 April, 1969 [23 April, 1968], No. 19323/69. Heading F4R. A street lamp comprises an ellipsoidal reflector 1 having a light source at the proximate focus F1 and a convex, preferably spherical, reflector 2 facing the reflector 1 and formed with at least one concave reflective recess 3. The recess 3 is part of a paraboloidal surface having its focus coincident with the remote focus F2 of the reflector 1 and its axis OX inclined at an angle α to the horizontal so that light reflected by the recess issues as a parallel beam. A clear glass cover may be provided between the outer peripheries of the two reflectors.
