Abstract
Description
The invention relates to analytical chemistry (indicator compositions) and can be used to determine molybdenum (VI) in aqueous solutions, in particular natural and waste waters.
[1]. Known indicator composition, the action of which is based on the formation of colored complex compounds during the interaction of molybdenum (VI) with various organic reagents in aqueous solutions. A common disadvantage of the composition used is the interfering effect of the accompanying components, which are eliminated by extraction or masking agents. This increases the analysis time, leads to additional consumption of reagents and the adoption of appropriate safety measures when working with extractants such as ethers, alcohols, chloroform. In addition, the corresponding methods for the determination of molybdenum (VI) in aqueous solutions are in some cases not sensitive enough [1].
[2]. To increase the sensitivity and selectivity of determinations, indicator compositions are used, including various sorbents. The determination of molybdenum (VI) using tiron in the phase of the Sephadex QAE-25 sorbent is described by solid-phase spectrophotometry. The disadvantage of this technique is the narrow linear range of the determined molybdenum contents (0.15-6 μg / l), as well as the difficulty of storing the sorbent due to its susceptibility to bacterial effects [2].
[3]. Known indicator composition for determining 25 - 200 μg / l of molybdenum (VI) using pyrocatechol violet on the surface of chemically modified silicas (CMS). The disadvantages of this technical solution are the duration of the experiment (up to two hours), a large sample volume (up to 1000 ml) and a low range of detectable concentrations [3].
(VI) [4].The closest in technical essence to the claimed composition is an indicator composition for determining 15 - 150 μg / l of molybdenum (VI) in aqueous solutions by diffuse reflection spectroscopy containing anion exchange resin, reagent, acid and water in the following ratio of reacting components, wt.%:
Anion exchange resin AB-17-8 - 1.5
Catechol violet - 0.007 - 0.008
Acetic acid - 0.007-0.07
Water - Else
The disadvantages of this indicator composition are narrow linear ranges of the determined contents of molybdenum (VI), not exceeding 1-1.5 orders of magnitude. This greatly complicates the analysis in terms of the choice of optimal conditions: the concentration of the initial solutions, the sorption time, which ultimately affects the time and complexity of the corresponding definitions. The duration of the tests can grow up to two hours. In addition, the indicator composition is proposed for the semi-quantitative determination of molybdenum (VI) [4].
The technical result of the invention is to expand the linear range of the determined contents of molybdenum (VI) in aqueous solutions, reducing the complexity and increasing the expressness of the analyzes.
(VI).The technical result is achieved in that the indicator composition for the determination of molybdenum (VI) in aqueous solutions containing a sorbent, the organic reagent pyrocatechol violet, acid and water, contains anion exchange resin AB-17-10P as a sorbent, and hydrochloric acid as an acid. and water, in the following ratio of components, wt.%:
Anion exchange resin AB-17-10P - 0.4
Catechol violet - 0.002
Hydrochloric acid - 0.007 - 0.02
Water - Else

The content of molybdenum (VI) in the analyzed solution is calculated according to the calibration graph. For its construction, aliquots of a standard solution of molybdenum (VI) with a content of the latter from 2.5 to 125 μg are introduced into graduated tubes with ground stoppers with a capacity of 50 ml, 0.2 g of ion exchanger AB-17-10P are added and then proceed as described above .
The diffuse reflection coefficient is converted into the Gurevich – Kubelka – Munk function by the equation
ΔF (R) = [(1-R) 2 / (2R)] - [(1-R 0 ) 2 / (2R 0 )],
where R and R 0 are the diffuse reflection coefficients of the reacted sample and the reference sample, respectively.
The dependence is built in the coordinates ΔF (R) -C Mo (VI) , mg / L.
1 и 2). The introduction of a porous structure of the anionite AV-17-10P instead of anion exchange resin AB-17-8 of the gel structure increases the sorption capacity of the indicator composition, which allows to expand the linear range of the determined contents from 200 to 2500 μg / l, to increase the expressivity of analyzes up to 40 minutes without loss in sensitivity and selectivity (Tables 1 and 2).
By simplifying the selection of optimal conditions and high selectivity of the indicator composition, the complexity of the analyzes is reduced.
