Den foreliggende oppfinnelsen består hovedsakelig av trykking av prøvetrykkmerker på en film, plassering av den i kontakt med et matprodukt, etterfulgt av en intens tørking ved lav relativ fuktighet og et røketrinn som også skjer ved lav relativ fuktighet for oppnåelse av områder som har en mer røkt farge i matproduktet under prøvetrykkmerkene enn i områdene som ikke er beskyttet av prøvetrykkmerkene.
