Oppfinnelsen vedrører fotokatalyse. Oppfinnelsen vedrører et komposittsystem som inneholder en fotokatalytisk bestanddel (10) i amorf tilstand og et aktivt substrat (12) som er innrettet til å nøytralisere de frie ladningsbærere av en første type, elektroner eller positive hull, for å beskytte ladningbærere av den andre type mot rekombinasjon.
