Abstract

Abrasive og/eller fortykkende materialblandinger av presipiterte silikaer og silikageler dannet in situ viser forskjellige gunstige egenskaper avhengig av strukturen hos komposittmaterialet dannet in situ. Med kompositter med lav struktur (målt som linoljeabsorpsjon fra 40 til 100 ml absorbert olje/100 g kompositt) oppnås samtidig gode egenskaper for fjerning av pellikelfilm og moderat dentinabrasjon som gir brukeren en tannpasta som effektivt renser tannoverflater uten skadelig slitasje. Økte mengder komposittmaterialer med høy struktur har en tendens til å gi større viskositetsoppbygging og fortykning samtidig med slike ønskelige abrasjons- og rengjøringsegenskaper, men i mindre grad enn med typer med lav struktur. Således vil rengjøringsmaterialer innen et midtre område vise oljeabsorpsjon på 100-150, og høytfortykkende/lavabrasjonskompositt på over 150. En slik samtidig, in situ dannet presipitert silika/silikagelkombinasjon gir effektiv, lav abrasjon og høy rengjøring, og forskjellige fortykkende egenskaper sammenlignet med fysiske blandinger av slike komponenter. Det beskrives også en fremgangsmåte for fremstilling av slike gel/presipitert silikakomposittmaterialer, samt forskjellige materialer med strukturområdene beskrevet over og tannpastaer omfattende slike. Oppfinnelsen angår også en fremgangsmåte for fremstilling av slike gel/presipitert silikakomposittmaterialer for et slikt formål, forskjellige materialer innen strukturområdene beskrevet over, og tannpastaer omfattende slike.
