Oppfinnelsen angår oppløselige høyt forgrenede glukose polymerer, som har et reduserende sukkerinnhold på mindre enn 1 %, et nivå av (-1,6 glukosid bindinger mellom 13 og 17 % og en Mw som har en verdi mellom 0,9 x 105 og 1,5 x 105 dalton, kjennetegnet ved at deres forgrenede kjedelengde fordelingsprofil består av 70 til 85 % av DP som er lavere enn 15, av 10 til 16 % av DP som er mellom 15 og 25 og av 8 til 13 % av DP som er høyere enn 25.
