Abstract
Et energieffektivt system for å redusere vannfriksjo- nen mot skroget av et sjøgående fartøy (10). Kontak- ten av vannet med den del av den ytre overflate av skroget på et sjøgående fartøy (10) som normalt er i kontakt med vannet, blir redusert ved den strategiske induksjon av trykkluft eller komprimert luft eller gass for å dekke denne ytre overflate. Den komprimerte luft blir holdt på plass på den ytre overflate ved hjelp av forskjellige spor (30), kanaler (66) eller halvflate over- flater (124) som løper langs lengden av fartøyets bunn, og ved visse anvendelser vertikale sider, hvilket hind- rer at den komprimerte gass strømmer til overflaten av vannet. Trykkluften eller gassen blir innfanget på nytt før den kommer ut av akterenden eller sidene, og blir resirkulert til baugen ved anordning av et energieffek- tivt sirkulasjonssystem (34, 36, 37, 38), slik at energien i den komprimerte luft eller gass som har strømmet fra baugen til akterenden, gjenvinnes. Jo større og dypere skrogets deplasementer, jo større er den effektivitet som realiseres ved resirkulering av den komprimerte luft eller annen gass.
