Abstract

Se provee un proceso para producir plantas multicelulares, organos de plantas o tejidos de plantas transformados en su plastoma a traves de los pasos siguientes: (a) alterar o interrumpir la funcion de un gen en un genoma plastido para producir un fenotipo seleccionable o reconocible; (b) separar o seleccionar las plantas o celulas que tengan plastidos que expresen ese fenotipo; (c) transformar ese genoma plastido de la planta, organo de planta o tejido de planta separado o seleccionado con al menos un vector de transformacion que tenga una secuencia de restauracion capaz de restaurar la funcion; y (d) separar o seleccionar la planta, organo de planta o tejido de planta que tenga plastidos que expresen la funcion restaurada.
