Abstract

La anchura W de la depresion de direccion (9) de un medio de grabacion optico de tipo de direccion intermedia se determina a traves de W=kTp/(?/NA), en donde ? es la longitud de onda laser de la cabeza optica del dispositivo de disco optico usado, NA es la abertura numerica del objetivo, Tp es el paso de carril del medio de grabacion y k es 0.40 <= k <= 0.68. Alternativamente, un dispositivo optico comprende un primer circuito de desmodulacion de direccion para desmodular la informacion de direccion utilizando una senal que es la suma de las senales electricas producidas a partir de un par de fotodetectores separados en la direccion del carril y un segundo circuito de desmodulacion de direccion para desmodular la informacion de direccion utilizando una senal que es la diferencia entre las senales electricas. La direccion es detectada basandose en la informacion asi obtenida. De tal manera, la compatibilidad del medio de grabacion utilizado y aquel del dispositivo optico se ven mejoradas, el margen de reproduccion para desmodular la informacion de direccion es incrementado, realizando la deteccion de direccion de alta exactitud cuando se reproducen datos a partir de un medio opticamente grabado de tipo de direccion intermedia.
