Abstract
Un motor (1) de combustión interna tiene un mecanismo (2) de relación de compresión variable que utiliza un mecanismo de pistón-manivela de acoplamientos múltiples, y se equipa con una válvula (8) de inyección de combustible que inyecta combustible en los cilindros. El mecanismo de relación de compresión variable cambia la relación de compresión moviendo la posición del punto muerto superior del pistón (24) hacia arriba o hacia abajo. Durante una alta carga, el periodo de inyección de combustible aumenta, pero con la presente invención la relación de compresión objetivo se vuelve una relación de compresión baja durante una alta carga, y el momento de inicio de inyección de combustible es antes del punto muerto superior de escape, de esta manera el periodo de inyección de combustible sobrepasa el punto muerto superior de escape. Cuando la relación de compresión es baja (característica 'b') la distancia entre la válvula de inyección de combustible y la superficie de corona del pistón (24) cerca del punto muerto superior aumenta como se indica por el símbolo 'H', de esta manera incluso si la inyección ocurre cerca del punto muerto superior, el humo no se genera fácilmente, y el periodo de inyección puede ser alargado para sobrepasar el punto muerto superior. Consecuentemente, se puede utilizar una válvula de inyección de combustible con una tasa de inyección pequeña.
