Claims (7)
- クランクシャフトと、
シリンダ内に摺動可能に収装されたピストンと、
前記クランクシャフトと前記ピストンとエンジン本体とに連結され、前記エンジン本体との連結位置を変更することで前記ピストンの上死点位置を変更して前記エンジンの圧縮比を変更する圧縮比変更手段を含んで構成された複リンク式ピストンクランク機構と、
を備えたエンジンにおいて、
前記エンジンの運転点を判断する手段と、
前記エンジンの運転点が所定の部分負荷領域にあると判断されたときに、前記エンジンを理論空燃比よりも薄い空燃比で運転させる燃焼モード制御手段と、
を備え、
前記圧縮比変更手段により上死点位置を変更した場合、上死点位置が高いほど前記ピストンの上死点付近における最大加速度が小さくなるように前記複リンク式ピストンクランク機構を構成した、
ことを特徴とするエンジン。 - 前記希薄燃焼は、燃焼室内に均質な混合気を形成し燃焼させる均質燃焼であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のエンジン。
- 前記希薄燃焼は、燃焼室内に空燃比の異なる層状の混合気を形成し燃焼させる成層燃焼であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のエンジン。
- 前記燃焼モード制御手段は、前記エンジンの運転点が前記所定の部分負荷領域にないと判断されたときは、前記エンジンを理論空燃比で運転させることを特徴とする請求項1から3のいずれかひとつに記載のエンジン。
- 前記エンジンの運転点が所定の低負荷領域にあると判断されたときは、前記圧縮比変更手段により前記ピストンの上死点位置を上昇させて前記エンジンの圧縮比を高めることを特徴とする請求項1から4のいずれかひとつに記載のエンジン。
- 前記エンジンの運転点が前記所定の低負荷領域よりも高負荷側に設定される所定の高負荷領域にあると判断されたときは、前記圧縮比変更手段により前記ピストンの上死点位置を下降させて前記エンジンの圧縮比を下げることを特徴とする請求項5に記載のエンジン。
- 前記エンジンの運転点が所定の高負荷領域にあると判断されたときは、前記圧縮比変更手段により前記ピストンの上死点位置を下降させて前記エンジンの圧縮比を下げることを特徴とする請求項1から4のいずれかひとつに記載のエンジン。
