Abstract

La presente invención describe un proceso para la preparación de clorhidrato de metilfenidato. El proceso implica la esterificación del ácido ritalínico y metanol en presencia de un catalizador ácido a una baja temperatura. El proceso puede involucrar opcionalmente la adición de un ortoéster.
