Las proteínas de fusión de Klotho son útiles en el tratamiento y la prevención de una variedad de condiciones relacionadas con la edad y trastornos metabólicos. En otra modalidad, el polipéptido de fusión comprende un factor de crecimiento de fibroblastos (FGF) (tal como FGF23), o una variante o un derivado funcionalmente activo del mismo; y un fragmento Fc modificado, o una variante o un derivado funcionalmente activo del mismo.
