Abstract
La presente divulgación proporciona un método para fabricar partículas de dióxido de titanio pigmentario recubiertas con una capa de recubrimiento de SiO2. El método comprende los pasos de (i) formar una dispersión acuosa que contiene partículas de dióxido de titanio de tipo rutilo que tienen un tamaño de partícula promedio en el intervalo de 7 a 1000 nm, (ii) introducir en la dispersión del paso (i) un compuesto que contiene silicio y una base, (iii) agregar ácido a la dispersión obtenida en el paso ii, (iv) repetir los pasos ii y iii al menos una vez. Finalmente, el pH de la dispersión se reduce a un valor dentro del intervalo de 1.9 a 9.0 antes de filtrar y lavar el producto así obtenido.
