Abstract
Un catalizador tiene un soporte de sílice modificada y comprende un metal modificador, circonio y/o hafnio, y un metal catalítico sobre el soporte modificado. El catalizador tiene al menos una proporción, normalmente, al menos un 25%, del metal modificador presente en restos que tienen un total de hasta 2 átomos del metal modificador. Los restos se pueden derivar de una fuente de cationes monoméricos y/o diméricos. Un método de producción:- proporciona un soporte de sílice con grupos silanol aislados con tratamiento opcional para proporcionar grupos silanol aislados (-SiOH) en un nivel de <2.5 grupos por nm2; poner en contacto el soporte de sílice tratado opcionalmente con un compuesto del metal modificador circonio o hafnio monomérico para conseguir la adsorción sobre el soporte; calcinar opcionalmente el soporte modificado durante un tiempo y una temperatura suficientes para convertir el compuesto de circonio o hafnio monomérico adsorbido sobre la superficie en un óxido o hidróxido de circonio o hafnio como preparación para la impregnación del catalizador.
