Abstract

Este documento describe un proceso para producir micropartículas de gel, que son consistentes en tamaño y morfología. A través del proceso de coacervación, pueden producirse grandes volúmenes de lechada de micropartículas de gel al escalar de forma ascendente el tamaño del recipiente del reactor. Las partículas pueden deshidratarse y rehidratarse repetidamente de acuerdo con su entorno, lo que permite el almacenamiento de partículas en un no disolvente tal como etanol. Las lechadas de gel muestran un comportamiento de plástico de Bingham en el que la lechada se comporta como un sólido en tensiones de esfuerzo cortante que se encuentran por debajo de un valor crítico. Al alcanzar la tensión de esfuerzo cortante crítica, la lechada experimenta una disminución rápida en la viscosidad y se comporta como un líquido. El comportamiento reológico de estas lechadas puede ajustarse al cambiar los procesos de compactación, tales como la fuerza de centrifugación para alterar el límite elástico. La distribución más estrecha y el tamaño reducido de estas partículas permiten un incremento en la fidelidad de impresión FRESH.
