Abstract
Se describe un método de síntesis para producir un xerogel orgánico a base de isocianato que tenga una baja densidad (es decir, <400 kg/m3) y un tamaño de poro pequeño (<150 nm) en combinación con un área superficial específica >100m2 /g. El método de síntesis que evita o que reduce la contracción de geles durante el paso de retiro de solventes se caracteriza por el paso en donde el solvente orgánico utilizado para sintetizar el xerogel orgánico a base de isocianato se reemplaza por agua de tal forma que durante el paso de retiro de solventes sólo es necesario retirar el agua para secar la red porosa y obtener el xerogel orgánico a base de isocianato.
