Abstract
La invención se relaciona con un método para la producción de poli(alquilen) guanidinas, que comprende al menos los siguientes pasos: a) proporcionar una alquilen diamina de la formula NH2-(CH2)m-NH2 donde m = un número entero de 4-12, en particular 6-10 en un recipiente de reacción y calentar la alquilen diamina a una temperatura igual o mayor que la temperatura de fusión de la alquilen diamina respectiva, típicamente a una temperatura en el intervalo de 25°C a 115°C, preferiblemente de 55°C a 110°C, como resultado de lo cual se forma una masa fundida de la alquilen diamina; b) agregar por porciones una sal de guanidinio (en forma sólida, en particular de partículadas), en particular HClde guanidinio y hacer reaccionar con la alquilen diamina hasta que concluya la formación de monómeros de alquilen(guanidina); c) hacer reaccionar los monómeros formados en el paso b) a al menos la temperatura mínima a la cual comienza la polimerización hacia la poli(alquilen)guanidina deseada hasta que concluya la formación de la poli(alquilen)guanidina; donde los pasos a) y b) para la formación de monómeros de alquilen(guanidina) son efectuados a una temperatura por debajo de la temperatura mínima de polimerización y todos los pasos del método son llevados a cabo mientras se agita. Un aspecto de la invención se relaciona con las poli(alquilen) guanidinas homogéneas que son obtenidas con el método descrito anteriormente las cuales tienen un contenido de al menos 85% en peso, en particular al menos 90% o 97%, de la poli(alquilen) guanidina lineal deseada con 3-14, preferiblemente 4-10, unidades monoméricas de alquileno en la molécula como el producto principal y un contenido de subproductos, en particular isómeros ramificados de esta poli(alquilen) guanidina, de a lo más 15%, 10%, 5% o 3%.
