Abstract

La presente invención se relaciona con un sistema y método para usar calentadores de respuesta rápida para precalentar metal antes de ingresar a un horno de tratamiento de metales, que puede mejorar el control sobre el procesamiento de metales, especialmente en respuesta a cambios en el material, velocidad de flujo másico, velocidad de línea y/o proceso de tratamiento deseado. Los calentadores de respuesta rápida se pueden usar con sistemas de control para ajustar la salida del calentador de respuesta rápida en función de las entradas del operador, detección directa o indirecta de los parámetros del proceso y/o el uso de modelos térmicos para ajustar rápidamente la salida del calentador de respuesta rápida, mientras que el horno permanece a una temperatura constante o pasa lentamente a un nuevo estado de funcionamiento. Las ganancias resultantes en el control del proceso resultan en productos de mayor calidad, chatarra reducida y aumenta la velocidad y el rendimiento de la línea.
