Abstract
Una viga de láminas múltiples incluye láminas preformadas con características integrales para provocar una forma final de la viga sin esquinas redondeadas para las propiedades óptimas de impacto. Las vigas tienen formas de sección transversal constantes o variadas. Las láminas se seleccionan para tener espesores (diferentes) deseados y propiedades del material para los resultados de impacto óptimos y bajo peso de la viga. Para montar, las láminas se arman juntas y se sueldan para formar la viga de caja, tal como una viga de una pierna, de dos tubos, preferiblemente usando los procesos de soldadura que tienen zonas mínimas de afectación por el calor alrededor de la soldadura. Las láminas múltiples pueden incluir grados de aluminio con alta resistencia a la tracción muy por encima de los grados de extrusión del aluminio. Alternativamente, las láminas múltiples pueden ser de cualquier grado de acero, tal como aceros de alta resistencia y aceros de ultra elevada resistencia. La técnica de armado y montaje minimiza el gasto de capital en las máquinas de extrusión y/o las máquinas de laminado.
