Abstract
Se proporciona un proceso de polimerización en suspensión de fase inversa para la fabricación de perlas de polímero que comprenden la formación de perlas acuosas de monómeros que comprenden una solución de monómero acuosa o mezcla de monómeros etilénicamente insaturados solubles en agua y la polimerización del monómero o mezcla de monómeros para formar las perlas de polímero mientras se suspenden en un líquido no acuoso, y la recuperación de las perlas de polímero, en la que el proceso comprende, proporcionar en un recipiente (1) un volumen (2) de un líquido no acuoso en el que el volumen de líquido no acuoso se extiende entre por lo menos un punto de descarga de la perla de polímero (3) y por lo menos un punto de alimentación de monómeros (4), alimentar el monómero acuoso o la mezcla de monómeros a través de los orificios (5) en, o sobre, el líquido no acuoso para formar las perlas de monómero acuosas, permitir que las perlas de monómero acuosas fluyan hacia el punto de descarga de la perla de polímero someter las perlas de monómero acuosas a condiciones de polimerización para iniciar la polimerización para formar las perlas de polimerización, en el que las perlas de polimerización han formado perlas de polímero cuando alcanzan el punto de descarga de la perla de polímero, eliminar una suspensión de las perlas de polímero en líquido no acuoso del recipiente en el punto de descarga de la perla de polímero y recuperar las perlas de polímero solubles en agua o hinchables en agua de la suspensión. La invención también se refiere al aparato adecuado para llevar a cabo una polimerización en suspensión de fase inversa y las perlas de polímero obtenibles por medio del proceso o el empleo del aparato.
