Abstract
La invención proporciona anticuerpos terapéuticos y de diagnóstico únicos, así como sus fragmentos, partes, derivados y variantes de los mismos, que unen regiones de la proteína tau que contribuyen a la iniciación y propagación de- interacciones tau-tau patológicas, así como métodos para elaborarlos. La invención también se refiere a métodos para utilizar estos anticuerpos para el diagnóstico, prevención, y tratamiento de enfermedad de Alzheimer y tauopatías relacionadas. La presente invención también proporciona un método para un tratamiento profiláctico y terapéutico de la enfermedad de Alzheimer y otras tauopatías neurodegenerativas. El método implica la inyección de vacunas de anticuerpos y/o péptido que produce una respuesta inmune dirigida a proteínas tau y depósitos tau patológicos en los cerebros de pacientes. Las vacunas adecuadas representan un péptido tau que lleva uno o más de los epítopos terapéuticos tau aquí provistos.
