Abstract
Un proceso para producir nanocristales de celulosa (CNCs) involucra proporcionar material celulósico, poner en contacto el material celulósico con un persulfato inorgánico a una temperatura elevada para producir CNCs, y recuperar los CNCs. El proceso permite producción en una etapa de CNCs a partir de biomasas vegetativas tales como cáñamo y lino. Nanocristales de celulosa producidos por el proceso con grupos carboxílicos son más uniformes y tienen relaciones de dimensiones superiores que los CNCs producidos por procesos de la técnica previa.
