Abstract

La invención se relaciona a un método para producir un gas de producto rico en hidrógeno, en donde un material de partida que comprende carbón se fracciona por medio de pirólisis, y el gas de pirólisis resultante, que se mezcla con vapor de agua para incrementar el contenido de hidrógeno, se calienta. El método obtiene el calor necesario para el proceso a partir de la combustión del coque de pirólisis que es producido. Para este fin, el calor necesario para las etapas del proceso individuales se alimenta al proceso por medio de un circuito de medio de transferencia de calor, que se calienta en una zona de calentamiento (13) pro medio del gas de chimenea (12) del caldeo de coque de pirólisis (11), la mezcla de pirólisis/vapor de agua subsecuentemente se calienta en una zona de reacción (3), la zona de pirólisis (2) se calienta, se enfría en una zona de enfriamiento (19) y subsecuentemente se retorna al comienzo del circuito. Para el uso mejorado del calor y el control de temperatura más preciso, la invención divulga que una zona de precalentamiento (13) se proporciona en el circuito de medio de transferencia de calor corriente arriba de la zona de calentamiento (13) , en donde el circuito de medio de transferencia de calor se precalienta por medio del gas de producto caliente, y que la transferencia de calor ocurre en la zona de pirólisis (2) indirectamente, y sin algún contacto directo, con el medio de transferencia de calor.
