Abstract

본 발명은 액정디스플레이의 각 화소의 충전시간을 항상 동일하게 화질특성을 개선하기 위한 액티브매트릭스 액정디스플레이의 구동회로에 관한 것으로, 각 화소안에 보조박막트랜지스터(35)와 화소박막트랜지스터(31)를 설치하여 신호선(Y)에 인가되는 허용신호에 의해 보조박막트랜지스터(35)을 온시켜서 주사선(X)의 게이트구동신호를 화소박막트랜지스터(31)의 게이트에 다음번 허용신호가 인가될 때까지 저장함으로써, 각 화소에 항상 충분한 시간동안 신호가 될 수 있게 한다.

제3도는 본 발명에 따른 포인트구동방식의 액티브매트릭스 액정디스플레이 구동회로를 나타내는 도면, 제4도는 제3도의 액정디스플레이를 구동하는 파형도.

Claims (4)

  1. 시프트레지스터와 버퍼로 이루어진 게이트구동회로와, 시프트레지스터와, 버퍼와, 영상신호가 입력되는 영상신호인입선과, 게이트가 상기한 버퍼에 연결되고 소오스가 상기한 영상신호인입선에 연결되어 버퍼로부터 신호를 입력받아 구동되어 상기한 영상신호를 출력하는 패스게이트 트랜지스터로 이루어진 데이타구동회로와, 복수의 신호선 및 주사선과, 상기 신호선 및 주사선의 교차점에 형성되어 게이트가 신호선에 연결되고 소오스가 주사선에 연결된 보조박막트랜지스터와, 게이트가 상기한 보조박막트랜지스터의 드레인에 연결되고 소오스가 신호선에 연결되며 드레인이 화소전극에 연결된 데이타 출력표시부로 구성된 액티브매트릭스 액정디스플레이 구동회로.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 데이타구동회로에 허용신호가 입력되는 허용신호인입선과, 게이트가 상기한 버퍼의 출력선에 연결되어 상기한 버퍼로부터 신호를 입력받아 구동하여 상기한 허용신호를 신호선에 인가하는 허용박막트랜지스터가 추가로 구성된 것을 특징으로 하는 액티브매트릭스 액정디스플레이 구동회로.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 상기한 보조박막트랜지스터의 문턱전압이 상기한 화소박막트랜지스터의 문턱 전압 보다 큰 것을 특징으로 하는 액티브매트릭스 액정디스플레이의 구동회로.
  4. 제2항에 있어서, 상기한 허용신호인입선에 인가되는 전압이 20~30V인 것을 특징으로 하는 액티브매트릭스 액정디스플레이 구동회로.
