고객 측에 있는 디지탈 데이타 주문형 턴키 시스템이 제공되며 여기에서는 N개의 서버들이 원격지에 저장된 디지탈화된 정보의 내용을 100% 분산, 제공하고 있고 이 정보는 실시간으로 사전 열람할 수 있으며, 선택된 디지탈화된 정보를 포함하는 제품을 현지에서 (on-site)판매시점 장소에서의 고객의 요청에 대해 짧은 응답시간내에 제조할 수 있다. 소매 환경에서 고객은 판매시점 장소에서 소비자 공중 박스에 있는 그래픽 기반 터치 스크린을 사용하여 내용 데이타 베이스를 모조리 검색 및 사전 열람할 수 있다. 오디오 및 비디오 세그먼트를 포함한 사전열람을 할 수 있다. 스크린을 프롬프트함(prompting screens)으로써 고객은 음악을 포함한 많은 수의 주제별로 카테코리로부터 이용할 수 있는 내용을 참조함으로써 구매 결정을 할 수 있게 된다. 내용은 앨범, 음악가 또는 작품 전체의 내용안에 있는 일부 내용을 사용하여 식별할 수 있게 된다. 디지탈 데이타의 제조 및 생산을 위해 선택된 매체는 수많은 다른 것들로부터 선택할 수 있으며, 예를 들어 CD, 카세트 테이프, CD ROM 기술, 릴 테이프 및 비디오 디스크 등이 포함될 수 있다. 시스템은 엄청나게 많은 수의 서버들을 가질 수 있도록 되어 있기 때문에, 특히 내용의 인기도와 전송 비용에 따라서 각 서버들에 있는 특정의 작품 전체 내용 뿐만 아니라 사전열람 내용물을 비례적으로 할당하기 위하여 전략적 및 경제적 네트워킹을 이룰수 있다. 마스터 서버는 연쇄적으로 네트워크를 이룬 하위 서버들에 엑세스할 수 있도록 지리적으로 위치되어 있다. 이 지리적 네트워크상의 위치는 고객 층이 소매상점이든 유사한 판매시점 또는 다른 최종 사용자 장소이든지간에 최상의 서비스를 제공하기 위하여 통신 네트워크 시스템 및 하위 시스템 비용과 이용가능성에 따라 다르다. 서버들 상기에 내용을 할당, 사전 열람 및 특정 작품에 대한 최종 제조 과정에 대한 전략을 세워 예를 들면 형식에 관계없이 음악가의 작품의 재고 목록을 항상 비치할 필요가 없도록 한 것이다. 내용의 전송 및 어떤 작품의 제조 이전에 중앙집중화된 데이타베이스 인증을 요구하는 보안 메카니즘이 부가적으로 제공된다. 이 시스템은 간소화된 재정 및 회계 서비스를 제공한다. 전체적 인증, 회계 및 관리 보고와 마케팅 시스템은 소매상인과 음반제작업체 등과 같은 데이타 소유자 또는 관리자에게 유익한 데이타를 수집 및 유지하고 있다.

Claims (23)

  1. 매체에 차후 재생(sebsequent play back)하기 위해 처리되는 정보를 제공하는 방법에 있어서, 제1 장소는 소오스 라이브러리(source library)에 디지탈 정보를 저장하는 단계, 상기 제1 장소로부터 떨어져 있는 제2의 장소에서 상기 소오스 라이브러리에 있는 디지탈 정보의 일부를 식별(identify)하는 단계, 상기 제2 장소로부터 상기 소오스 라이브러리로 상기 소오스 라이브러리에 있는 디지탈 정보의 식별된 부분을 요청하는 요청 명령(request command)을 보내는 (send) 단계, 상기 디지탈 정보의 식별된 부분이 재생하도록 인증되어 있는가(authorized for playback)를 확인(validata)하는 단계, 상기 디지탈 정보의 식별된 부분을 확인하는 상기 단계를 회계 데이타 베이스(accounting database)에 로그 인(lod in) 하는 단계, 재생하기에 적합한 매체 상에 상기 디지탈 정보를 포함(incorporate)시키기 위하여 상기 제1 장소가 아닌 다른 장소에 있는 제조장치(manufacturing device)에 상기 디지탈 정보의 식별된 부분을 실시간으로(in real-time) 전송하는 단계 및 상기 디지탈 정보의 식별된 부분을 재생하기에 적합한 방식으로 상기 매체상에 실시간으로 포함시키는 단계를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 매체에 정보를 제공하는 방법.

  3. 저장, 회계 및 재생을 위해 패키지화 되어 있는 디지탈화된 내용 데이타를 갖는 매체의 제조과정이 통합되어 있는(intergral in a process of storing, accounting for and manufacturing media with digitized content data packaged for playback) 원격지에 위치한 시스템 스테이션들(remotely located system stations) 간에 디지탈 데이타를 전송(tranamit)하기 위한 데이타 통신 시스템에 있어서, 선택된 디지탈화된 내용 데이타를 식별하여 상기 내용 데이타(content data)를 요청하는 통신 정보(communication)을 발생하는 고객 측 스테이션(customer premise station). 고객 측 스테이션으로부터 원거리에 배치되어 있고 디지탈화된 내용 데이타를 갖는 내용 데이타 저장 스테이션, 상기 내용 데이타 저장 스테이션으로부터 디지탈화된 내용 데이타를 요청하는 각 고객 측 스테이션의 통신에 대한 트랜잭션 데이타(transactional data)를 기록하기 위한 회계 스테이션(acconting station), 상기 내용 데이타 저장 스테이션으로부터 원거리에 배치되어 있으면서 상기 고객 측 스테이션이 요청한 상기 내용 데이타 저장 스테이션으로부터의 디지탈화된 내용 데이타를 포함하고 있는 매체를 발생하기 위한 제조 스테이션(manufacturing station) 및 디지탈화된 내용 데이타를 상기 원격지에 배치된 내용 데이타 저장 스테이션과 사이 제조 스테이션 사이에서 실시간 전송하기 위하여 상기 내용 데이타 저장 스테이션과 상기 고객 측 스테이션, 상기 회계 스테이션 및 상기 제조 스테이션을 상호 연결시키는 통신 네트워크를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 데이타 통신 시스템.
  4. 서로 원거리에 배치되어 있고 상위단(high end)과 하위단(loe end)을 갖는 계층 레벨(hierarchical level)로 연결되어 있으며 데이타 엑세스 스테이션(data accessing station)과 데이타 통신을 하고 있는 복수의 데이타 서버들 간에 100%의 내용 데이타를 저장하기 위해 할당하는 방법으로서, 상기 데이타 엑세스 스테이션은 상기 복수의 데이타 서버를 각각으로부터 멀리 떨어져 있지만 상기 계층의 하위단에 있는 데이타 서버로부터 떨어져 배치되어 있는 것보다 상기 계층의 그 다음 상위 레벨에 있는 각각의 그 다음 데이타 서버로부터 상기 데이타서버의 계층 상위단에 있는 데이타 서버로 감에 따라서 더 멀리 떨어져 있게 되는 100%의 내용 데이타를 할당하는 방법에 있어서, 상기 내용 데이타의 X퍼센트를 상기 데이타 엑세스 스테이션으로부터 가장 가까이 있는 계층의 하위단에 있는 데이타 서버에 자장하도록 할당하는 단계, 상기 내용 데이타의 Y퍼센트(여기서, Y는 X보다 크고 100보다는 작다)를 상기 데이타 엑세스 스테이션으로부터 가장 멀리 떨어져 있는 데이타 서버들로 이루어진 계층의 상위단에 있는 데이타 서버에 상기 데이타 엑세스 스테이션이 가장 적은 횟수로 엑세스하는 내용 데이타의 함수로서 저장하도록 할당하는 단계, 및 상기 내용 데이타의 100-X-Y 퍼센트를 상기 하위단과 상기 상위단 데이타 서버들 사이에 배치된 다른 어떤 데이타 서버들 사이에 저장하도록 할당하고, 상기 데이타 엑세스 스테이션으로 부터 보다 말리 떨어져 있는 그 다음의 각각의 데이타 서버에 대해서는 상기 데이타 엑세스 스테이션으로부터 좀 더 가까이 배치된 데이타 서버에 대해서 보다 더 많은 퍼센트의 내용 데이타를 할당하고 데이타 엑세스 스테이션으로부터 좀더 멀리떨어져 배치된 그 다음의 서버에 대해서 보다는 더 적은 퍼센트의 내용 데이터를 할당하는 단계를 구비하며, 상기 계층의 하위단에 있는 데이타 서버에 할당되는 내용 데이타 X퍼센트는 상기 데이타 엑세스 스테이션이 가장 빈번히 엑세스 하는 내용 데이타의 함수인 것을 특징으로 하는 100%의 내용 데이타를 할당하는 방법.
  5. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 디지탈 정보의 식별된 부분을 실시간으로 전송하는 단계는 상기 디지탈 정보를 고속의 일정한 비트 속도(high speed constant bit rate)로 전송하는 것을 특징으로 하는 매체에 정보를 제공하는 방법.
  6. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 디지탈 정보의 식별된 부분을 실시간으로 전송하는 단계는 상기 디지탈 비동기 전송 모드(asynchronous transfer mode)에서 고속의 일정한 비트속도(high speed constant bit rate)로 전송하는 것을 특징으로 하는 매체에 정보를 제공하는 방법.

  9. 제3항에 있어서, 상기 시스템 스테이션을 상호 연결시키는 통신 네트워크는 상기 디지탈화된 내용 데이타를 상기 내용 데이타 저장 스테이션으로 부터 상기 제조 스테이션으로 고속의 일정한 비트 속도로 전송하는 것을 특징으로 하는 데이타 통신 시스템.
  10. 제9항에 있어서, 상기 시스템 스테이션을 상호 연결시키는 통신 네트워크는 상기 디지탈화된 내용 데이타를 상기 내용 데이타 저장 스테이션으로부터 상기 제조 스테이션으로 비동기 전송 모드(asynchronous transfer mode)에서 고속의 일정한 비트속도로 전송하는 것을 특징으로 하는 데이타 통신 시스템.

  13. 매체에 차후에 재생(subsequent playback)하기 위해 처리되는 정보를 제공하는 방법에 있어서, 원래 X의 속도로 재생하도록 기록되어 있는 디지탈 오디오 정보 및 원래 Y의 속도로 재생하도록 기록되어 있는 디지탈 비디오 정보를 제1 장소에 있는 소오스 라이브러리에 저장하는 단계, 상기 제1 장소로부터 떨어져 있는 제2 장소에서 상기 소오스 라이브러리에 있는 디지탈 정보의 일부를 상기 제2 장소에서 재생하기 위하여 식별(identify)하는 단계, 상기 제2 장소로부터 상기 소오스 라이브러리로 상기 소오스 라이브러리에 있는 정보의 식별된 부분을 요청하기 요청명령(request command)을 보내는(send)단계, 상기 정보의 식별된 부분이 재생하도록 인증되어 있는가(authorized for playback)를 확인(validata)하는 단계, 상기 제2 장소에서 실시간으로 재생하기에 적합한 통신 속도로 상기 디지탈 정보의 식별된 부분을 전송하는 단계, 선택된 부분을 재생하기에 적합한 매체 상에 포함시키기 위하여 상기 디지탈 정보의 식별된 부분을선택하는 단계, 상기 디지탈 정보의 식별된 부분을 선택하는 단계를 회계 데이타 베이스에 로그 인(log in)하는 단계, 상기 디지탈 정보를 상기 매체 상에 포함시키는 것을 인증하기 위한 인증 코드(authorization code)를 사용하여 상기 디지탈 정보의 선택된 부분을 상기 매체상에 포함시키도록 제조 장치에 신호를 보내는(signaling) 단계, 오디오 정보의 경우에는 X의 속도로 비디오 정보의 경우에는 Y의 속도로 상기 디지탈 정보를 재생하기 위하여 상기 디지탈 정보를 상기 매체 상에 직접 포함시키기에 적합한 통신 속도로 상기 제조 장치에 상기 디지탈 정보의 선택된 부분을 제공하는 단계 및 오디오 및 비디오 정보를 상기 기록된 속도로 재생하기 위한 방식 상기 디지탈 정보의 선택된 부분을 상기 매체 상에 포함시키는 단계를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 매체에 정보를 제공하는 방법.
  14. 제5항에 있어서, 상기 디지탈 정보의 식별된 부분을 실시간으로 전송하는 단계는 상기 디지탈 정보를 초당 44.7메가비트(megabits)를 초과하는 고속의 일정한 비트 속도(high speed constant bit rate)로 전송하는 것을 특징으로 하는 매체에 정보를 제공하는 방법.
  15. 제4항에 있어서, 상기 내용 데이타를 계층의 하위단에 있는 데이타 서버에 내용 데이타를 할당하는 단계는 하위단 데이타 서버에 내용 데이타의 10% 이하를 할당하고, 상기 내용 데이타를 계층의 상위단에 있는 데이타서버에 할당하는 단계는 상기 데이타 엑세스 스테이션으로부터 가장 멀리 떨어져 있는 상위단 데이타 서버에 내용데이타의 80% 이상을 할당하는 것을 특징으로 하는 100퍼센트의 내용 데이타를 할당하는 방법.
  16. 데이타의 저장, 회로 정보 관리 및 디지탈화된 내용 데이타를 갖는 매체의 제조 및 재생을 위한 이 매체의 패키지 과정이 통합되어 있는(integral in a process of storing dara, managing accounting information, manufacturing media with digifized content data and packaging the media for playback) 원격지에 위치한 시스템 스테이션들(remotely located system stations)간에 디지탈 내용 데이타를 전송(transmit)하기 위한 데이타 통신 시스템에 있어서, 선택된 디지탈화된 내용 데이타를 식별하여 이러한 내용 데이타(such content data)에 대한 고객의 요청에 응답하여 통신 정보를 발생하는 고객 측 스테이션(customer premise station), 제1 마스터 유닛, 제2 마스터 유닛, 제3 마스터 유닛, 제4 마스터 유닛 및 제5 마스터 유닛을 포함하고 있으며 복수의 서버 기능들을 수행하기 위한 마스터 서버 시스템 스테이션, 상기 제3 마스터 유닛으로부터 멀리 떨어져 있으며 상기 고객 측 스테이션에 있는 고객이 요청한 상기 디지탈화된 내용 데이타를 포함하는 매체를 생성하기 위한 제조 스테이션 및 상기 제3 마스터 유닛과 상기 제조 스테이션 사이에서 디지탈화된 내용 데이타를 실시간으로 전송하 도록 상기 마스터 서버 시스템의 제1 마스터유닛과 상기 고객 측 스테이션 및 상기 제조 스테이션을 상호 연결시키기 위한 통신 네트워크를 구비하고, 상기 제1 마스터 유닛은 복수의 마스터 유닛들을 상호 연결시키고, 상기 마스터 서버 시스템 내에서의 그리고 상기 마스터 서버 시스템 스테이션과 원격지에 있는 시스템 스테이션들 간에서의 데이타 통신을 관리하며, 상기 제2 마스터 유닛은 데이타 요청 메세지들을 라우팅(routing)하며, 상기 제3 마스터 유닛은 상기 고객측 스테이션으로부터 원거리에 배치되어 있으며 상기 고객 측 스테이션에 있는 고객이 한 내용 데이타 요청을 받아 이행하기 위하여 저장된 내용 데이타에 대한 서비스를 제공하며, 상기 제4 마스터 유닛은 내용 데이타에 대한 고객의 관심을 증진시키기 위하여 고객 인구 통계(demographic) 정보를 저장하고 있으며, 상기 제5 마스터 유닛은 내용 데이타에 대한 고객의 요청을 포함하는 고객 트랜잭션(transaction)의 함수로서 회계 데이타를 관리하는 것을 특징으로 하는 데이타 통신 시스템.
  17. 오디오 시스템, 터치 스크린(touchscreen)모니터 및 소비자에게 소비자가 식별하여 요청한 스크린 프리젠테이션(screen presentation)을 제공하기 위하여 소비자가 터치 제어(touch control)를 하도록 상기 모니터 상에 복수의 스크린을 개별적으로 제공하기 위한 제어기를 포함하고 있는 멀티미디어 사전열람 스테이션(multimedia preview station)에 있어서, 카테고리(category)의 프리젠테이션을 활성화시키는 터치 포인트(touch point)를 포함하고 상기 모니터 상에 스크린 프리젠테이션을 제공하기 위해 복수의 카테고리의 내용 데이타를 식별하는 라이브러리 스크린(library screen), 상기 소비자가 활성화하는 터치 포인트를 포함하고 상기 라이브러리 스크린의 카테고리 주제(category subject matter)를 알파벳 문자로 리스트함으로써 프리젠테이션을 제공하기 위해 내용 데이타를 식별하는 알파벳 문자 리스트 스크린(alphabetical listing screen), 소비자 요청을 알파벳 문자로 또는 숫자로 식별하기 위한 모니터 터치 포인트를 포함하고 있는 탐색 스크린(search screen), 사전 열람(preview)용의 모니터 터치 포인트들과 구매 리스트 내용 데이타(purchase listed content data)를 선택하기 위한 선택용의 모니터 터치 포인트들을 포함하고 있는 사전열람 스크린 및 선택된 품목(item), 수량(quantity), 형식(format) 및 가격별로 리스트된 소비자가 한 구매 선택을 포함하고 있고 품목 선택을 변경하기 위한 모니터 터치 포인트를 포함하고 있는 구매 선택 스크린(purchase selection screen)을 구비하고, 상기 사전 열람용의 모니터 터치 포인트들은 실시간으로 상기 사전 열람 스크린에 전달되는 소비자가 식별한 오디오 및 비디오 리스트 내용 데이타(audio and video listed content data)를 사전 열람하기 위한 것임을 특징으로 하는 멀티미디어 사전 열람 스테이션.
  18. 터치 스크린 모니터 및 판매활동(sales operation), 수량(quantity), 금액(monetary amount), 구매 형식(purchase format), 구매 주제(purchase subject matter) 및 소비자 인구 통계(customer demographics)의 함수로서 원격지에 저장된 디지탈화된 소비자 구매 데이타를 분석하기 위한 회계 작업 툴(accounting worktool)을 조작자에게 제공하기 위하여 상기 조작자가 터치 제어하도록 모니터 상에 복수의 스크린을 개별적으로 제공하기 위한 제어기를 포함하고 있는 회계 시스템(accounting system)에 있어서, 상기 모니터 상에 스크린 프리젠테이션을 제공하기 위해 복수의 분석 보고서(analysis report)를 식별하고 소비자 매매(consumer salse), 소비자 인구 통계, 매매 단위(salse unit) 및 매매 그룹(salse gruop)의 함수로서 분석된 분석 보고서(analysis report)의 프리젠테이션을 활성화하기 위한 터치 포인트를 포함하고 있는 보고 스크린(report screen), 상기 보고 스크린으로부터 멀리 떨어져 배치되어 있으며 상기 터치 스크린 모니터의 보고 스크린 상의 터치 포인트에 의해 활성화된 분석 보고서(touchpoint activated analysis report)에 해당하는 디지탈화된 데이타를 고속의 일정한 비트속도로 전송하기 위한 디지탈화된 데이타 저장 유닛(digitized data storage unit), 및 소비자 구매에 해당하는 원격지에 저장된 디지탈 데이타를 수량 형식으로(in quantified format) 제공하는 분석 보고 스크린(analysis report screen)을 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 회계 시스템.
  19. 제2항에 있어서, 제1 장소에 있는 소오스 라이브러리에 디지탈 정보를 저장하는 단계는 암호화되고 압축된(encrypted and compressed) 디지탈 정보를 저장하며, 상기 방법은 또한 상기 디지탈 정보의 선택된 부분을 해독 및 복원(decrypting and decompressing)하는 단계를 더 포함하고 있으며, 상기 디지탈 정보를 상기 매체상에 포함시키도록 상기 장치에 상기 디지탈 정보의 선택된 부분을 제공하는 단계는 상기 디지탈 정보의 암호 해독되고 복원된(decrypted and decompressed) 선택된 부분을 제공하는 것을 특징으로 하는 매체에 정보를 제공하는 방법.
  20. 제2항에 있어서, 제1 장소에 있는 소오스 라이브러리에 디지탈 정보를 저장하는 단계는 오디오 및 비디오 디지탈 정보를 저장하는 것을 특징으로 하는 매체에 정보를 제공하는 방법.
  21. 제16항에 있어서, 상기 마스터 서버 시스템 스테이션이 수행하는 서버 기능들은 상기 복수의 마스터 유닛들에 의해 행해지며 적어도 상기 마스터 유닛들 중의 몇개는 다른 마스터 유닛들보다 상기 제조 스테이션으로부터 더 멀리 떨어져 배치되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 데이타 통신 시스템.
  22. 서로 멀리 떨어져 배치되어 있으며 계층적 레벨로(in hierarchical levels) 연결되어 있는 디지탈 데이타 내용을 저장하는 복수의 데이타 서버들을 포함하는 디지탈 데이타 내용을 갖는 매체를 제조하기 위한 제조 시스템에 있어서, 각각이 높은 퍼센트의 저장된 디지탈 데이타 내용을 저장하는 상위 레벨 서버들(top level servers), 각각이 상기 상위 레벨 서버들보다 더 적은 퍼센트의 저장된 디지탈 데이타 내용을 저장하는 중간 레벨 서버들(intermrdiate level servers), 상기 상위 레벨 서버들과 상기 중간 레벨 서버들을 상호 연결시키고 상기 상위 레벨 서버들과 상기 중간 레벨 서버들 사이에서 디지탈 데이타 내용을 비동기 전송 모드로 전송하기 위한 상위 레벨 통신 네트워크(high level communication network), 각각이 상기 중간 레벨 서버들 보다 더 적은 퍼센트의 저장된 디지탈 데이타 내용을 저장하는 최종 사이트 서버들(end site server), 상기 중간 레벨 서버들과 상기 최종 사이드 서버들을 상호 연결시키고 상기 중간 레벨 서버들과 상기 최종 사이트 서버들 사이에서 디지탈 데이타 내용을 비동기 전송모드로 전송하기 위한 하위 레벨 통신 네트워크(low level communication network), 및 상기 최종 사이트 서버들 중의 하나에 상호 연결되어 있으면서 비동기 전송모드로 디지탈 데이타 내용을 수신하여 상기 수신된 디지탈 데이타 내용을 갖는 매체를 제조하기 위한 제조장치(manufactuning device)를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 제조 시스템.
  23. 제13항에 있어서, 상기 오디오 정보의 경우에는 X의 속도로 비디오 정보의 경우에는 Y의 속도로 상기 디지탈 정보를 재생하기 위하여 상기 디지탈 정보를 상기 매체 상에 직접 포함시키기에 적합한 통신 속도로 상기 제조 장치에 상기 디지탈 정보의 선택된 부분을 제공하는 단계는 오디오 정보의 경우에는 X의 속도의 배수(multiple)이고 비디오 정보의 경우에는 Y의 속도의 배수인 속도로 상기 디지탈 정보의 선택된 부분을 상기 제조장치에 제공하는데, 상기 배수는 정보가 오디오인가 또는 비디오인가에 관한 함수(function)이며 제조 장치의 기록 속도의 함수인 것을 특징으로 하는 매체에 정보를 제공하는 방법.
