Abstract

본 발명은, 특히 박막트랜지스터 액정표시패널에 의해 다계조표시를 행하는 것에 이용해서 유효한 액정구동방법과 액정표시장치에 관한 것으로서, 다계조화를 도모하면서 잔상현상을 방지한 액정구동방법과 액정표시장치를 제공하는 것을 목적으로 하며, 그 구성에 있어서, 저항분압회로에 의해 정쪽 및 부쪽의 복수로 이루어진 계조전압을 형성하는 동시에, 신호진폭이 작아짐에 따라서 정쪽의 계조전압과 부쪽의 계조전압과의 평균치가, 공통전압에 대해서 증대하도록 상기 각 계조전압을 형성해서 TFT 액정표시패널을 구동하는 것을 특징으로 한 것이며, 이로서, 공통전극의 전압에 대해서, 각 계조전압의 정전압과 부전압을 비대칭으로해서 평균치를 최적으로 설정할 수 있으므로, 다계조화를 도모하면서 잔상현상을 방지할 수 있는 효과가 있다.

본 내용은 요부공개 건이므로 전문내용을 수록하지 않았음
제 1 도는 본 발명에 관한 액정표시장치의 일실시예를 설명하시 위한 개략 구성도. 제 2 도는 본 발명에 관한 액정구동방법 및 액정표시장치에 있어서의 각 전압을 설명하기 위한 파형도. 제 3 도는 계조접압과 최적코먼전압과의 관계를 설명하기 위한 특성도. 제 4 도는 종래의 다계조 구동신호의 일예를 설명하기 위한 파형도. 제 5 도는 본 발명에 관한 액정표시장치의 다른실시예를 설명하기 위한 개략구성도. 제 6 도는 본 발명에 관한 액정구동방법의 다른실시예를 있어서의 각부의 전압관계를 설명하기 위한 도면. 제 7 도는 본 발명에 관한 액정구동방법의 계조전압과 최적코먼전압과의 관계를 설명하기 위한 도면.

Claims (3)

  1. 저항분압회로에 의해 정쪽 및 부쪽의 복수로 이루어진 계조전압을 형성하는 동시에, 신호진폭이 작아짐에 따라서 정쪽의 계조전압과 부쪽의 계조전압과의 평균치가 공룡전압에 대해서 중대하도록 상기 각 계조전압을 형성하고, 표시신호에 대응해서 상기 각 계조전압을 TFT 액정표시패널에 공급하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정구동방법.
  2. 복수로 이루어지는 계조전압의 신호진폭이 작아짐에 따라서 정쪽의 계조전압과 부쪽의 계조전압과의 평균치가, 공통전압에 대해서 증대하도록 저항비가 설정되어서 각 계조전압을 설정하는 저항분압회로와, 상기 계조전압을 출력하는 버퍼회로와, 표시신호에 따른 계조전압을 TFT액정표시패널에 공급하는 액정드라이버를 구비하여 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
  3. 제 2 항에 있어서, 상기 저항분압회로의 양단부에는, 최대진폭전압과 기준전압과의 가산전압과 감산전압이 교류화신호에 의해 교호로 공급되는 동시에, 2개의 중점(中點)을 설정해서 조정가능하게된 중점전압이 교류화 극성에 따라 공급되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
