Abstract
액티브 매트릭스형 액정 표시 장치(ALCD)에 있어서 아날로그 RGB 신호에 대한 신호 처리에 대응하고, 저소비 전력화와, 콤팩트화 저가격화를 실현하는 것에 있다.
ALCD는 화소 전극(13)으로 이루어진 LCD 패널(9)와, 이 LCD 패널(9)를 구동하는 수직 드라이버 회로(10) 및 상하 수평 드라이버 회로(11,12)를 구비하고 있다. 이 ALCD의 제어에 있어서는, RGB 비디오 신호를 입력하여 레벨 시프트 및 증폭을 행하여 샘플 홀드하는 샘플 홀드 회로(1)과, 이 샘플 홀드 회로(1)의 출력 신호를 √변환하는 √변환 회로(2)와, 이 √변환 회로(2)의 출력 신호에 의해 어떤 일정 전압에 대해 반전시킨 신호와 비반전 신호를 작성하는 데이타 반전 회로(3)과, 이들 각 회로를 제어하는 콘트롤러(4)를 갖는다. 게다가, 데이타 반전 회로(3)에서 LCD 패널(9)의 상하 수평 드라이버 회로(11,12)에 역상 또는 동상의 신호를 공급하여 화소 전극(13)을 구동한다.

Claims (9)
- 화소 전극으로 이루어진 액정 패널과, 상기 액정 패널을 구동하는 수직 드라이버 회로 및 상하 수평 드라이버 회로를 구비한 액티브 매트릭스형 액정 표시 장치에 있어서, RGB 비디오 신호를 입력하여 레벨 시프트 및 증폭을 행하여 샘플 홀드하는 샘플 홀드 회로와, 상기 샘플 홀드 회로의 출력 신호를 √변환하는 √변환 회로와, 상기 √변환 회로의 출력 신호에 의해 어떤 일정 전압에 대해 반전시킨 신호와 비반전 신호를 작성하는 데이타 반전 회로와, 상기 각 회로를 제어하는 콘트롤러를 갖고 있고, 상기 데이타 반전 회로에서 상기 액정 패널의 상기 상하 수평 드라이버 회로에서 역상의 신호를 공급하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액티브 매트릭스형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 반전시킨 신호와 비반전 신호를 상기 콘트롤러의 제어에 의해 상기 데이타 반전 회로에서 1수평 주사 기간에 역전시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 액티브 매트릭스형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 반전시킨 신호와 상기 비반전 신호를 상기 콘트롤러의 제어에 의해 상기 데이타 반전 회로에서 1수직 주사 기간에 역전시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 액티브 매트릭스형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 샘플 홀드 회로는, 상기 RGB 비디오 신호의 레벨 시프트 및 증폭을 행하는 입력 버퍼와 상기 증폭된 비디오 신호를 샘플 홀드하는 샘플 홀드부와, 외부로부터의 제1의 신호를 트리거로서 상기 샘플 홀드부의 샘플링 타이밍을 결정하는 신호를 생성하는 시프트 레지스터와, 상기 샘플 홀드된 신호를 외부에서의 제2신호로 선택하는 셀렉터로 이루어진 것을 특징으로 하는 액티브 매트릭스형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 샘플 홀드 회로와 상기 √변환 회로는 동일한 반도체 기판에 집적되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액티브 매트릭스형 액정 표시 장치.
- 화소 전극으로 이루어진 액정 패널과, 상기 액정 패널을 구동하는 수직 드라이버 회로 및 상하 수평 드라이버 회로를 구비한 액티브 매트릭스형 액정 표시 장치에 있어서, RGB 비디오 신호를 입력하여 레벨 시프트 및 증폭을 행하는 샘플 홀드하는 샘플 홀드 회로와, 상기 샘플 홀드 회로의 출력 신호를 √변환하는 √변환 회로와, 상기 √변환 회로의 출력 신호에 의해 어떤 일정 전압에 대하여 동상의 반전 신호 또는 동상의 비반전 신호를 작성하는 데이타 반전 회로와, 상기 각 회로를 제어하는 콘트롤러를 갖고 있고, 상기 데이타 반전 회로에서 상기 액정 패널의 상기 상하 수평 드라이버 회로에 동상의 신호를 공급하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액티브 매트릭스형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제6항에 있어서, 상기 동상의 신호를 상기 콘트롤러의 제어에 의해 상기 데이타 반전 회로에서 1수평 주사 기간에 역전시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 액티브 매트릭스형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제6항에 있어서, 상기 동상의 신호를 상기 콘트롤러의 제어에 의해 상기 데이타 반전 회로에서 1수직 주사 기간에 역전시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 액티브 매트릭스형 액정 표시 장치.
- 제6항에 있어서, 상기 샘플 홀드 회로, 상기 √변환 회로 및 상기 데이타 상전 데이타 반전 회로는 동일한 반도체 기판에 집적되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액티브 매트릭스형 액정 표시 장치.※ 참고사항 : 최초출원 내용에 의하여 공개하는 것임.
