Abstract

디알킬 카보네이트는 촉매의 존재하에서 알콜을 사용하여 에틸렌 카보네이트 또는 프로필렌 카보네이트를 트랜스에스테르화 함에 의한 연속상 제조방법에 있어서, 팩킹 또는 배플(baffle)이 장치된 컬럼에서 반응물이 역류로 컬럼을 통과하여 에틸렌 카보네이트 또는 프로필렌 카보네이트는 컬럼의 상부로 이동되고 알콜은 컬럼의 하부로 이동되고 촉매는 고정층으로서 컬럼내에 배열되거나 용액 또는 현탁액으로 컬럼의 상부로 이동되고, 필요한 경우, 알콜과의 혼합물로서 형성된 디알킬 카보네이트는 컬럼의 정상(top)에서 제거되고 에틸렌 카보네이트 또는 프로필렌 카보네이트로부터 형성된 에틸렌 글리콜 및 프로필렌 글리콜은 컬럼의 기부(foot)에서, 필요한 경우, 촉매와 함께 제거되도록 함으로써 제조될 수 있다.

Claims (7)

  1. 촉매의 존재하에 에틸렌 카보네이트 또는 프로필렌 카보네이트 1몰 당 일반식(Ⅱ)의 알콜 3내지 30몰, 바람직하게는 4내지 20몰, 특히 바람직하게는 6내지 16몰을 사용하여 에틸렌 카보네이트 또는 프로필렌 카보네이트를 트랜스에스테르화하여 일반식(Ⅰ)의 디알킬 카보네이트를 제조하는 방법(이때, 트랜스에스테르화를 팩킹 또는 배플(baffle)이 장치된 컬럼에서 60 내지 160℃, 바람직하게는 60 내지 150℃, 특히 바람직하게는 65 내지 130℃의 온도 범위에서 수행하여 반응물이 역류로 컬럼을 통과하여 에틸렌 카보네이트 또는 프로필렌 카보네이트는 컬럼의 상부로 이동되고 알콜은 컬럼의 하부로 이동되고, 촉매는 고정층으로서 컬럼내에 배열되거나 용액 또는 현탁액으로 컬럼의 상부로 이동되고, 필요한 경우, 알콜과의 혼합물로서 형성된 디알킬 카보네이트는 컬럼의 정상(top)에서 제거되고 에틸렌 카보네이트 또는 프로필렌 카보네이트로부터 형성된 에틸렌 글리콜 및 프로필렌 글리콜은 컬럼의 기부(foot)에서, 필요한 경우, 촉매와 함께 제거됨을 특징으로 한다).
    상기식에서, R1은 직쇄 또는 측쇄 C1-C4-알킬이다.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 알콜이 메탄올인 방법.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 알콜이 에탄올인 방법.
  4. 제1항에 있어서, 컬럼의 공간/시간 적하가 반응 첨가물을 기준으로 하여, 0.1 내지 3, 바람직하게는 0.2내지 2.5, 특히 바람직하게는 0.3 내지 2.0kg/ml/시간인 방법.
  5. 제1항에 있어서, 순수한 알콜 대신에, 알콜 및 디알킬 카보네이트가 동일한 알킬 라디칼을 갖는 알콜/디알킬 카보네이트 혼합물이 알콜로서 사용되는 방법.
  6. 제1항에 있어서, 컬럼이 정상으로부터 하부로 증가하는 범위의 온도값의 온도구배를 갖는 방법.
  7. 제1항에 있어서, 컬럼의 중간부분 직경이 컬럼의 잔류 부분 직경의 4배 이하로 넓은 방법.
