Claims (7)

  1. 동작 시스템의 제어하에서 응용 프로그램들을 실행하는 메인 프로세서와, 다수의 I/O 장치와, 상기응용 프로그램들을 기억하는 다이나믹 랜덤 엑세스 메모리(DRAM)를 구비하며, 상기 동작 시스템이 상기메인 프로세서에 의해 실행되도록된 배터리로 작동되는 컴퓨터에 있어서, 상기 컴퓨터에서 파워 분산을 제어하는 파워 제어 레지스터를 포함하는 파워 분산 시스템을 구비하고, 상기 파워 분산 시스템은 상기 프로세서, 상기 l/O 장치 및 상기 DRAM을 동작시키도록 상기 컴퓨터에파워를 공급하는 대체 가능한 메인 배터리에 연결되도록 되어있고, 또한 상기 메인 배터리가 제거될때 상기 DRAM에 파워를 공급하기 위한 보조 배터리에 연결되도록 되어 있으며, 상기 파워 분산 시스템에 연결되어 상기 메인 배터리의 파워레벨을 비롯하여 소정 조건을 모니터 함과 아울러 소정의 제1조건들의 발생시 인터럽트 요청을 발생시키는 제1모니터 수단을 구비하고, 상기 모니터 수단은 상기 메인 배터리가 사실상 완전 방전 상태에 놓이게 될때 일시정지 인터럽트 요청을발생시키는 동작을 하며, 상기 제1모니터 수단에 연결되며, 상기 제1모니터 수단으로부터의 상기 일시정지 인터럽트 요청에 응답하여 상기 메인 프로세서에 인터럽트 요청 신호를 전송하는인터럽트 컨트롤러를 포함하고 있는 인터럽트 수단을구비하고, 상기 컴퓨터에 기억된 일시정지 인터럽트핸들러를 포함하는 인터럽트 핸들링 수단을 구비하고, 상기 메인 프로세서는 상기 인터럽트 수단으로부터의 상기 인터럽트 요청에 응답하여, 상기 인터럽트 핸들러를 선택적으로 실행하고 그리고 이에따라 상기 파워제어 레지스터를 세트하고 그러므로써 상기 컴퓨터에서 파워 분산을 제어하는 동작을 하는 한편,상기 메인배터리가 사실상 완전 충전되었을때 상기 일시정지 핸들러를 실행하는 동작을 하여 상기 프로세서로부터 나오는CPU 정보가 상기 DRAM에 기억되도록 하고 그리고 상기 컴퓨터로의 파워를 차단 시킴으로써 상기 메인 배터리가 대체를 위해 제거될때 상기 보존 배터리가 상기 DRAM에 기억된 정보들을 그대로 지탱시키며, 상기 파워 분산 시스템이 파워원에 연결됨에 응답하여, 상기 메인 배터리가 제거된후 상기 컴퓨터에 파워를 공급하고, 상기 DRAM으로부터의 상기 CPU 정보가상기 프로세서 내로 복구되도록 하며 상기 컴퓨터의 정상적인 동작이 재개되도록 하는 복구 수단을 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 컴퓨터.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 복구 수단이 상기 파워 분산 시스템에서 시스템 전압을 모니터하는 제2모니터 수단을 구비하고, 상기 제2모니터 수단은 충전된 백업 배터리가 상기 파워 분산 시스템에 연결됨의 결과로해서 상기 시스템 전압이 소정 레벨에 도달함에 응답하여 동작하게 되는 특징으로 하는 컴퓨터.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 PMP는 상기 메인 배터리가 사실상 완전 방전 상태가 되었을때 배터리 에너지 낮음 상태 신호(lowbattery signal)를 발생시키고, 상기 제1모니터 수단은 상기 PMP 및 상기 인터럽트수단에 연결되어 상기 배터리 에너지낮음 상태 신호를 상기 정지 인터럽트 요청으로 번안(translating)하는 논리 수단을 구비하며, 상기 논리 수단온 또한 컴퓨터 리드(lid)의 폐쇄를 표시하는 신호를 제2일시정지 인터럽트 요청으로 번안하는 동작을 하고, 상기 프로세서는상기 논리 수단이 상기 제2일시정지 인터럽트 요청을 발생시킴에 응답하여 상기 일시 정지 핸들러를 실행하는 동작을 하게되는 것을 특징으로 하는 컴퓨터.
  4. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 메인 배터리에 연결될 수 있는 선택적으로 동작되는 내부 메인 배터리 충전기와, 상기 컴퓨터를 AC전원에 연결시키는 수단을 구비하며, 상기 PMP는 상기 컴퓨터가 상기 AC 전원에 연결될때, 상기 메인 배터리를 모니터함과 아울러 상기 메인 배터리가 완전 충전 레벨 이하일때 상기 충전기를 턴온시키는 동작을 하게 되는 것을 특징을 하는컴퓨터.
  5. 제1항에 있어서, 다수의 소정 비율중 한 비율에서 상기 메인 프로세서를 선택적으로 세팅 동작시키는 클럭 속도 컨트롤러와, 상기 클럭 속도 컨트롤러를 선택적으로 세트하도록 연결된 속도 제어 수단과, 고성능화(high performmce) 혹은 배터리 수명 장기화(long battery life)를 발생시키기 위해 사용자가 선택하는 실행 목적올 기억하는 비휘발성 기억 장치를구비하며, 상기 속도 제어 수단이 상기 실행 목적에 응답하여 상기 목적에 따라 상기 속도를 세트시키고 그리고 상기 고성능화 목적이 선택될때 상기 프로세서를 늪은비율로 동작시킴과 아울러 시스템의 동작에 따라 높비율과 낮은 비율 사이에서 스위칭을 행하므로써 상기 프로세서를 동작시키게 되는 것을 특징으로 하는 컴퓨터.
  6. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 논리 수단이 소정 조건들을 나타내는 신호들에 응답하여, 재개 인터립트 요청을 발생시키고 상기 소정조건들에는 리드 개방(lid oped), 시각 경보(a time of day alarm) 및 모뎀 링(modem ring)이 포함되어 있으며, 상기 인터럽트 수단은 상기 컴퓨터에 기억된 재개 인터럽트 핸들러를 포함하며, 상기 메인 프로세서는 재개 인터립트 요청에 응답하여 상기 재개 핸들러를 실행하는 동작을 하므로써 CPU 정보가 상기 DRAM에서 상기 메인 프로세서로 복구되고 상기 컴퓨터에 파워가 공급되게 되는것을 특징으로 하는 컴퓨터.
  7. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 인터럽트 수단에 연결되며, 컴퓨터 리드 폐쇄/개방(computer lid closed/open), 시스템 전압레벨,시각경보 및 모뎀 링으로 이루어지는 군으로부터 선택된 조건들을 나타내는 신호들의 수신에 응답하여 인터럽트 요청을 발생시키는 제2논리 수단을 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 컴퓨터.
