Claims (9)

  1. 개개의 디스크 및 디스크 어레이 파라미터와 그 디스크 및 디스크 어레이에 대한관련상태 정보를 갖고 결함에 대해 내성을 갖는 대용량 기억 지능 디스크 어레이 서브 시스템을 구비한 컴퓨터 시스템과 함께 사용할 수 있도록 하기 위해, 상기 디스크 어레이 내의 모든 드라이브에 대한 디스크 섹터 분석을 실행하는 방법에 있어서, (a) 디스크 어레이 및 디스크 드라이브 상태 정보와 현재 디스크 파라미터에 따라 현재 디스크 메모리 위치를 초기화하는 단계와; (b) 상기 디스크 어레이가 디스크 동작을 실행하고 있는 중인지를 결정하고, 만일 그러한 동작을 실행하는 중이면 소정시간 주기동안 본 발명의 방법에 대한 동작을 일시 중지하고, 상기 디스크 동작이 실행되지 않을때까지 이들 단계를 반복하는 단계와; (c) 현재 디스크 메모리 위치에 대한 판독 동작을 실행하는 단계와; (d) 판독동작의 결과를 체킹하여, 그 결과가 결함이 있는 것으로 나타나는지를 결정하고, 결함 검출시 현재 디스크 멤모리 위치에 대한 디스크매체의 결함을 가리키는 단계와; (e) 연속 디스크 메모리 위치로 증분하는 단계와; (f) 디스크 어레이 내에 위치된 모든 디스크에 대해 모든 디스크 메모리 위치에 대한 단계(b) 내지 (d)를 연속적으로 실행하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 디스크 어레이 내의 모든 드라이브에 대한 디스크 섹터 분석을 실행하는 방법.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 디스크 메모리 위치를 초기화 하는 단계는 컴퓨터 시스템이 리세트 되었음을 결정하는 단계와, 만일 레세트 되었으면 현재 디스크 메모리 위치를 그 디스크 어레이내의 소정의 디스크 메모리 위치로 초기화 하는 단계를 추가로 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 디스크 어레이가 액티브 상태인 것을 결정하는 단계는 디스크 어레이 제어기가 입출력 동작 요구 신호를 수신받았으나 그 신호에 따라 작동되지 않는다는 것을 결정하는 단계를 추가로 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  4. 제3항에 있어서, 상기 디스크 어레이가 액티브 상태인지를 결정하는 단계는 현재 디스크 메모리 위치가 설정된 디스크가 현재 재작동되고 있는 중인지를 결정하는 단계를 추가로 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  5. 결함에 대해 내성을 갖는 대용량 기억 지능 디스크 어레이 서브 시스템을 구비한 컴퓨터 시스템과 함께 사용할 수 있도록 하기 위해, 디스크 어레이 내의 모든 드라이브에 대한 디스크 섹터 분석을 실행하는 방법에 있어서, (a) 디스크 및 디스크 어레이 파라미터와 현재 상태 정보를 결정하는 단계와; (b) 디스크 어레이 및 디스크 드라이브 상태 정보와 현재 디스크 파라미터에 따라 현재 디스크 메모리 위치를 초기화 하는 단계와; (c) 디스크 어레이가 디스크 동작을 실행하고 있는 중인지를 결정하고, 그러한 동작을 실행하는 중이면 소정 시간 주기 동안 본 발명의 방법에 대한 동작을 일시 중지하고; 디스크 동작이 실행되지 않을때까지 이들 단계를 반복하는 단계와; (d) 현재 디스크 메모리 위치에 대한 판독 요구 신호를 발생하고, 디스크 어레이 제어기에 의해 판독 실행 요구 신호를 대기시키는 단계와; (e) 판독요구 신호의 결과를 체킹하여 그 결과가 결함이 있는 것으로 나타나는 지를 결정하고, 결함 검출시 현재 디스크 메모리 위치에 대한 디스크 매체 결함을 가리키는 단계와; (f) 연속 디스크 메모리 위치로 증분하는 단계와; (g) 디스크 어레이내에 위치된 모든 디스크에 대해 모든 디스크 메모리 위치에 대한 단계 (c) 내지 (f)를 연속적으로 실행하는 것을 특징으로 하는 디스크 어레이 내의 모든 드라이브에 대한 디스크 섹터 분석을 실행하는 방법.
  6. 제5항에 있어서, 상기 디스크 메모리 위치를 초기화 하는 단계는 컴퓨터 시스템이 리세트 되었음을 결정하는 단계와, 만일 리세트 되었으면 현재 디스크 메모리 위치를 디시크 어레이내의 소정의 디스크 메모리 위치로 초기화 하는 단계를 추가로 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  7. 제5항에 있어서, 상기 디스크 어레이가 액티브 상태인 것을 결정하는 단계는 디스크 어레이 제어기가 입출력동작 요구신호를 수신받았으나 그 신호에 따라 작동되지는 않는 다는 것을 결정하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  8. 제7항에 있어서, 상기 디스크 어레이가 액티브 상태인지를 결정하는 단계는 현재 디스크 메모리 위치가 설정된 디스크가 현재 제작동되고 있는 중인지를 결정하는 단계를 추가로 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  9. 제5항에 있어서, 상기 디스크 및 디스크 어레이 파라미터를 결정하는 단계는 디스크의 예약된 디스크 메모리 위치로 부터 디스크 및 디스크 어레이 파라미터를 판독하는 단계를 추가로 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
