Claims (9)

  1. 하기 일반식(Ⅰ)의 클로로 톨란 :
    상기식에서, R1은 1 또는 2개의 인접하지 않은 CH2그룹을 또한 -O-, -O-CO, -CO-O- 및/또는 -CH=CH-에 의해 대치시킬 수도 있는 12개 이하의 탄소원자를 갖는 알킬을 나타내고, A는 트랜스-1,4-사이클로헥실렌 또는 1,4-헤닐렌이며, r은 0또는 1이고, s는 0또는 1이며, L1및 L2는 H또는 F이고, 단, 치환제 L1및 L2중의 하나는 F이며 다른 하나는 H 또는 F이고, s가 0이고 R1이 2내지 12개의 탄소원자를 갖는 알킬인 경우 L1및 L2는 모두 H일 수도 있다.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, L1이 H이고 L2가 F인 클로로 톨란.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, L1=L2=H이고, s=0이며, R1이 2 내지 12개의 탄소원자를 갖는 알킬인 클로로 톨란.
  4. 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, s가 0이고 R1이 10개 이하의 탄소원자를 갖는 알킬 그룹인 클로로 톨란.
  5. 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, s가 0이며, A가 트랜스-1,4-사이클로헥실렌인 클로로 톨란.
  6. 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, s가 r이 1고, A가 트랜스-1,4-사이클로헥실렌인 클로로 톨란.
  7. 적어도 하나의 화합물이 제1항에 따른 클로로 톨란임을 특징으로 하는, 적어도 2개 화합물의 혼합물인 액정 매질.
  8. 제6항에 따른 액정 매질을 함유함을 특징으로 하는 액정 디스플레이 장치.
  9. 제6항에 따른 액정 매질을 함유함을 특징으로 하는 전광 디스플레이 장치.
