Claims (10)

  1. 하나 이상의 하기 일반식(Ⅰ) 화합물을 함유함을 특징으로 하는, 양(+) 유전이방성을 갖는 극성 화합물들의 혼합물을 기본으로 하는 액정 매질:
    상기 식에서, R은 각각의 경우에 탄소수 7이하의 알킬, 옥사알킬, 플루오로알킬 또는 알케닐이고, L은 H 또는 F이다.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 하기 일반식(Ⅱ), (Ⅲ) 및 (Ⅳ)를 포함한 그룹중에서 선택된 하나 이상의 화합물들을 추가로 함유함을 특징으로 하는 매질.
    상기 식들에서, R은 각각의 경우에 탄소수 7 이하의 알킬, 옥사알킬, 플루오로알킬 또는 알케닐이고, X는 F, Cl, CF3, OCF3또는 OCHF2이며, Y는 H 또는 F이고, r은 0또는 1이다.
  3. 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 하기 일반식(Ⅴ) 내지 (Ⅷ)를 포함한 그룹중에서 선택된 하나 이상의 화합물들을 추가로 함유함을 특징으로 하는 매질.
    상기 식들에서, R, r, X 및 Y는 각각 서로 독립적으로 제2항에 정의된 바와 같다.
  4. 제1항 내지 제3항중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 하기 일반식(Ⅸ) 내지 (ⅩⅡ)를 포함한 그룹중에서 선택된 하나 이상의 화합물을 추가로 함유함을 특징으로 하는 매질.
    상기 식들에서, R, X 및 Y는 각각 서로 독립적으로 제2항에 정의된 바와 같다.
  5. 제2항에 있어서, 일반식(Ⅰ) 내지 (Ⅳ) 화합물의 비율이 전체 혼합물내에서 적어도 50중량%임을 특징으로 하는 매질.
  6. 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 일반식(Ⅰ) 화합물의 비율이 전체 혼합물내에서 10내지 50중량%임을 특징으로 하는 매질.
  7. 제2항 내지 제4항중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 일반식(Ⅱ) 내지 (Ⅳ) 화합물의 비율이 전체 혼합물내에서 30 내지 70중량%임을 특징으로 하는 매질.
  8. 제1항 내지 제4항중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 일반식(Ⅰ) 내지 (ⅩⅡ)를 포함하는 그룹중에서 선택된 화합물을 필수적으로 포함함을 특징으로 하는 매질.
  9. 전광 목적을 위한 제1항에 따른 액정 매질의 용도.
  10. 제1항에 따른 액정 매질을 함유한 전광 액정 디스플레이.
